Emo is an odd thing. I know that at this point in time, we are all supposed to hate it. I know that. Yet, I still have a soft spot in my heart for bands that can do emotional and melodic punk/hardcore. So I was in for a treat when I received a copy of “The Silence of Fire” by Burning Daisies Records. There is a good assortment of different types of emocore and indie rock throughout the disc. Some of it is fair, some of it is great. While bands like The Broadband did absolutely nothing for me, Curvature and The Kite-Eating Tree really brought the rock home. Four Minute Mile sound like a good radio rock band and Best Left Forgotten takes the more subdued approach to punk. Please login or register to post comments. Burning Daisies ? hahah 'The Rising Tide' is Sunny Day's worst album. 'LP2', 'How if Feels...', 'Diary' and than 'Rising Tide'. Half of the Rising Tide are poor songs, too smarmy and cheesy. I will admit, though, that the good songs: 'Killed by an Angel', 'One', 'Disappear', 'Snibe' and 'Television' are really good. the only thing more emo than the album title is the record label title. Settle down, Beavis. these emo faggots need to shut up and go listen to a subhumans record. Ah. Don't know a thing about Get Up Kids, not my thing. FMM are my age, I know their old drummer. I'm thinking the name isn't a reference to that. It's the name of The Get Up Kids' first album, widely known by hundreds of thousands. Why is Four Minute Mile such a bad name? rising tide > diary. i cant believe some dumbass kids actually had the audacity to name themselves Four Minute Mile. how can I get people to send me cds for free? how do you spell "actual"? wrong |
