First of all, this album has some of the worst artwork I have ever seen. Actually, the back of the cd looks ok. And the liner isn’t terrible but the front cover is just… bad. Yeah.

So, now that’s out of the way.

I have listened to All Night Radio’s new album, Spirit Stereo Frequency at least a good five times. And yet I really can’t remember a single song that got caught in my head., except maybe the first song “Daylight Till Dawn” because it has a catchy little vocal melody with lots of “bum bum bums” and “oohs.” If you can get past the middle few tracks, then you find a few tracks that might be worthy of your listening pleasure, such as “Sad K,” (track seven), and “Winter Light,” track nine. But, unless you’re really into psychedelic rock like Pink Floyd, but with occasional lyrics in Spanish and lots of sounds affects and samples, I don’t think this album is going to blow you away or even impress you that much. Actually, even if you like Pink Floyd a lot, I still don’t think this is going to be that exciting for you.

I appreciate that this album is different, that All Night Radio attempts to branch out, and uses different samples and explores different ideas. But to be honest, it just doesn’t catch my fancy. It might just be that I don’t “get” it. But for whatever reason, I don’t think I will ever walk into my room, desperately wanting to hear this album, or ever find myself humming these tune as I walk to class. Right now, at least, All Night Radio just doesn’t have what I am looking for in an album.

with members of beachwood sparks and the rapture, I gave it a listen. thought it was good, but I have only heard one song.

Sure, pink floyd maybe be "hippie shit", but it's really good hippie shit. If you just blindly dismiss them as not worth listeng to, you're missing out on a lot of great music. If you have the patience to sit through a 10 minute song, Animals is an amazing album.

Pink Floyd is hippie shit like Emo. Punk has evolved in opposition to this shit...why all this is reviewed in a punkforum is a mystery to me

This score is for the stuff sub pop USED to put out: Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Green River etc.!

Despite my tree habit, I FUCKING HATE Pink Floyd. It makes me want to punch a tree. Not a big one though, just a sapling, with those cables to hold it up. I would probably also simultaneously urinate on it.

your review of the album is just as bad as the artwork.

haha, when writing this, did you ever think that after saying that this was the worst artwork, and then retracting it was possibly something that could just be fixed before posting? its not like you're on live or anything
