This album actually surprised me. It starts out with some sampled strings and then soft, jazz inspired drum beat. I was intrigued. With so much music sounding the same these days, my interest was definitely piqued when the song started to build. "And so it has to change" croons Ben Gautrey for the opening line of the album in a sweet soft voice reminiscent of a mix between Chris Connely and Thom Yorke . "The Same Mistakes" then continues to build until eventually four minutes into the song it breaks out rocking. Then onto the CDs single "Promises Promises," which features the crappiest most annoying guitar riff intro and sounds like some crappy nü-metal rock. I was disappointed. I put the album back in the stack to review later. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
TCTC are awesome two fantastic albums. awesome live what more could you ever want. Oi you americans, TCTC are the best bit of decent intelligent music to whip your assess in ages, put down your Avril Lavinge albums and away your skater shorts- monkeys I would say just plain awful, but it's not just that, it's also shit. Avoid comme le plague. In all honesty, this is the most sincere, heartfelt, piece of shit I've heard in a long time. Plus they look like the Goo Goo Dolls. corporate hippie rock still sucks Ha! You caught my inside joke. lame shit again in a punk forum, maybe this is something for the britpop forum Vocals similar to Liam Gallagher, thats about as far as the comparisons go. Good album, but first one was probably better. Blind Pilots is a Grandaddy rip off. you said "akimbo!" cheers. I heard they sound like oasis, can anyone confirm-oldpunker- they pretty much kick ass. sort of. |
