My friends and I often joke about something we call a "genre cap", which is similar to a salary cap in sports. The genre cap simply dictates that there can only be so many bands with roughly the same sound. After about 25 bands sound somewhat the same, no one is allowed to form a band that sounds even remotely like the pre-existing ones. If you've been to a local show recently, you'll notice the "bands that sound like Glassjaw" genre is not only full, but reaching ridiculous proportions. Please login or register to post comments. This album is really good. Somewhat catchy yet severly addicting. awesome cd, i saw them w/ less than jake on saturday at a free concert put on by lehigh university, this is def. an awesome cd I love this album, period. Don't be rude and post offensive comments. I love this album, period. Better off dead is great. I saw them once and picked up thier lifeline cd. There are some good songs on it. Good bands from Pittsburgh: Too bad being nice doesn't mean you can write music worth shit. i get these guys and bayside confused with each other. lets face it, these guys a bunch of pussies. this band is horrible. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh weird coincidence: the newest guyana punchline album is called "direkt aktion" you have to spend time with the record. at first certain songs strike you but with more listens you end up liking the songs you didnt like better than the ones you did originally. awesome job! Amazing album from the first to the last song. It sounds even better live!!! This record is a good record and I see these guys everywhere. Light years ahead of their ep. Awesome! Someone finally got around to reviewing GUYANA PUNCHLINE's newest record "Direkt Action"....oh wait.... Nice guys, terrible music. This score is for the review. This score is also for bands like SOJH and Over It which are making fun pop-punk that doesn't sound like NFG or Taking Back Sunday. yeah the band is pretty average pop punk, but these are some of the nicest guys i have ever met. They're writing their music all DIY, and they're out their having a a great time trying to make a living doing it. wow its that mxpx/rolling stones/motley crue cover again. fuck these guys, i remember them pimping their damn cd's every show i went to in pittsburgh. these guys blow goats (and themselves from what i've heard). |
