Kill Me TomorrowThe Garbageman and The Prostitute (2004)Gold Standard Laboratories Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: Matt Whelihan (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on May 7th 2004
After listening to Kill Me Tomorrow the first word that popped into my mind was “different.” Their sound is an eclectic mix that is difficult to describe. Take trashy vintage sounding guitars and bass with abrasive tones, add electronic drum beats and noises, a male singer who has a goth tinged, garage rock fuzzed voice, and a dissonant female backing vocalist and you will get the strange, chaotic, and different sound of The Garbageman and the Prostitute. The songs seem to lack a traditional structure and it is impossible to predict what they will do next. If I had to label Kill Me Tomorrow’s sound I would call it electronic goth punk. I saw Kill Me Tomorrow last night at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago with The Blood Brothers. I had never heard them before, but as soon as they started playing I was...amazed...for lack of a better word. I have never heard anything quite like them. I've been listening to them non stop since i saw them and can't seem to get enough. They're music is unlike anything I have ever heard before. Its unique, unpredictable, and incredible. They're, by far, the best band I have EVER seen live. They're one of the best bands I have stumbled upon and I greatly look forward to seeing them with Album Leaf this fall. Probably the best dancepunk record of the year. What a faggot ass name for a band, and an especially faggot ass name for a CD. These pussies need to fucking stop making music and get a fuckin job at Taco Bell. It would be funny if one of these fuckers got lit on fire at a show and got his little pecker burned off. i've seen this band live twice and they got old pretty quick. GSL has some of the best shit out there. Kill Me Tomorrow's no exception. I thought this was a great album and I hear they kick live. This album title should have ended with "...walk into a bar and say..." Good review; I may be seeing these guys open for Daughters! and Blood Brothers. Seems like one twisted line-up. | Features
