The DistanceThe Distance: Your Closest EnemiesYour Closest Enemies (2003)Bridge Nine Records Reviewer Rating: 3 Contributed by: xignitexxignitex (others by this writer | submit your own) I had a lengthy review written out, but realized that sometimes less is more. Ironically, this EP shares that same philosophy, taking only 8 minutes to rip through 6 songs. i guess i will check this out. i like it when a cd is over before i even noticed that i hit play. i'm not a fan of bridge 9 at all...these guys are playing in buffalo monday for can i say's last show, so i'll probably stick around, but again, i really don't like bridge 9 in any capacity...i really think their bands are sucking the fun out of hardcore...hopefully these guys will be different... This reviews did not but remind me that I can't find Get Fucked's release... All of this oldschool strongcore sXe stuff is getting boring... if memory serves me correctly these guys are touring with With Honor...which is good enough to make me check them out. This is excellent Some good good ol' hardcore, in the vein of "the good 'ol days". A nice release, but some of the songs can run together a bit, and its too bloody short. hellz yea. i've seen the distance a bunch of times since i live in ct. the distance are like the only local hardcore band that i actually like. i love the intensity. This CD is good stuff, I love the Distance. Great live show too, make sure you catch em when they come around your area. there's been nothing but metal related and hardcore albums released so far this year, except for a few, what is gong on. I'm not big on a whole lot of Bridge 9 stuff [cue BSD attack], but I really like the one mp3 I heard from this. I should probably check it out. |

This is by far the longest "8 minutes" I have ever had the displeasure of being subjected to. Over before you know it? HA! It is just like that infernal Mr. Bucket song only it has all the creativity of a toddler's vommit... sorry, that was actually a complement, I guess...
If you are into excessive use of expletives to the point where they lose all meaning including their original denotations, then by all means, give these guys some money. If you like to have at least some of the expletive adjectives match up and form a coherent sentence, then I would advise you to pick up an Etch-a-sketch and make one yourself.
