Chinese Stars’ frontman Eric Paul’s high-register, sometimes-disinterested/sometimes-pleading vocals recall those of Christian Death’s premier frontman Rozz Williams (singer in EARLY Christian Death when they were actually GOOD, R.I.P., Rozz
) but no traces of Christian Death’s undeniably theatrical “death rock” here, friends, just some intoxicating noise rock from this Rhode Island quartet, which includes two ex-members of Arab on Radar (Paul, drummer Craig Kureck) and one from Six Finger Satellite (bassist Rick Pelletier). Nothing's as great as Fred Durst's LiveJournal. That shit is a fucking comedic goldmine. R.I.P. Arab on Radar. Never heard the EP but like this CD. Rory Phillips, aka pretentious peice of shit that produced the recover album, aka moron in the impossibles that to this day talks shit about the only good thing he was a part of, aka fucktard that owns a fucking livejournal at age 30 and posts on it about how he's "in line to produce the next armor for sleep album..yay!", wanted to name his new band, and sequal to slowreader, chinese stars. I'm just glad this band, no matter how stupid they seem took the name from such a fucking asshole. i saw them live and they were repetitive. so so so repetitive. I like this alot better than their EP. its super dancy, which I like. The problem is there isnt that much variety in the songs, but its a pretty short cd anyways. fuck this album. Rozz actually sang in negative trend for a while as well......in the early recordings. Damn, I gotta review negative trend. Wow...someone on here actually likes this band. |
