from 6 o 9? why do most bands play so early in the states? doors open between 7 and 9 here, most shows start between 8 and 10:00... Oh, and hey, anyone who sees them from this point on, tell them to look on the front right headlight of their camper. It should say 'Scotch Duluth' on it. Somewhat small, so a brillo pad or something could easily erase it, but thought I'd leave them something to remember Duluth by. Pretty entertaining, though. I did it while Gerry was on the phone behind it. Fuckin' A. Suburban Legends really blew me away. They played in a tiny bar, yet still fit every damn member of the group in there, albeit half of them were standing with the crowd, but the fact they still did backflips over each other and flung trombones around like they were fetuses blew me away. Gerry Lundquist of MU330 is a machine! Same could be said for the rest of the group, however. Kick ass, though, standing a foot away from Dan Potthast the whole night while watching a buddy barrel through the crowd with a bloody nose because he did too much blow. These guys kick ass. Yeah, I caught MU330 last Friday at the Triple Rock. Fun show. I'll probably have a review in for this Friday. Oh yeah, anyone check out MU330 at the Triple Rock? I didn't get back to the cities in time, but saw 'em in Duluth for three bucks. Kick ass show! I always see Mitch at Cheapo. I don't think he ever buys anything, though. Cheapo's a hotbed. Talked to Prince in there, and the Candy Man from the Timberwolves and some comedian. Plus 90% of the time, anyone of us who's working is either stoned or buzzed. Just wish the money was better. Yeah, that's pretty cool. I wonder if Mitch Clem will be there. Against Me could thank him for getting them signed to FAT, LOL. Hey, anyone else from the cities think it's fucking rad that Against Me! is playing two days in a row at the Triple Rock? Only time the whole tour they're playing two dates. i saw this tour in albany. quite fun. streetlight are so much better than (current) catch 22 its incredible. Okay, I admit I've said alot of shit to the effect of not knowing what's so great about streetlight manifesto, well, I caught this show on Monday at will's pub, now I know! Big D set it up and streetlight knocked it the fuck down!! Best ska show I've seen since the ska vs. racism tour!! SM is touring with Mustard Plug and possibly the Planet Smashers this winter. SM has another CDs worth of material done and possibly a winter tour in the works This review is ok. Big D is usually awesome. Although everyone is entitled their own opinion, I hate it when people compare Catch 22 and this band. There is a reason they are 2 different bands and there is also a reason why Catch 22 sound different these days. I agree that Keasby is an awesome record, but why pigeonhole them or even Streetlight for that matter, and say "god they'll never be able to do that stuff again...guess i'll convert to being a fan of another band". super weakness. they need to play thieves and liars live. that would rule so much. this was a fuckin sick show in phoenix, big d tore it up as usual and streetlight was insanely amazing... Tomas played and sang with WALKING PNUEMONIA! thats dedication... can't wait for the new big d shit.. "how it goes" will be amazing and girls against drunk bitches is an awesome song i drove 7 hours to see this show.. and it was worth it all. Streetlight Manifesto are one of the best bands in the world, lyrically, live, and just overall musically. They deserve everything in the world and they are a great group of guys. Hell, I bought em a $75 dinner once... I missed this tour in Toronto because I was in Europe... and that was cool and all... but it IS fucking Streetlight. Oh well, they say they have 'big things' coming in 2005 so hopefully that includes another tour/cd? I'm sure this show was exemplary. girls against drunk bitches is a rad song I was at that show, and I almost wet myself when I heard they were coming to the cities a few months earlier. I got pretty drunk by the end of Streetlight's set, but holy crap, what a show! Big D was pretty amazing, as well. |
