Ska is dying! There's only a few bands left. Who's gonna save it? Who? Who? Please help.....(catchy intro song)

Oh my! It's Mustard Plug!!!!

This album is what kept me into ska. As far as I'm concerned, Against All Authority and Mustard Plug are the only bands that are keeping the ska era alive. Anyway on with the review.

This cd is quite frankly, perfect. Mustard Plug is musically brilliant. Punk rock and ska often get lost in a sea of lyrical praise and rebellion. Of course, this is all good but we often forget about the music. The music is beautiful. Everything blends great, the horns, the guitar, the bass, and the drums. Unbelievable horn section.

I really wanted to destroy this band. I really did. I heard about them by word of mouth. With a, quite frankly, stupid name like Mustard Plug and an idiotic album name, Pray For Mojo, I wanted to write this band off like nothing. However, I feel in love with them from the first song.

Recomended songs are "Lolita," "Away From Here," and "Throw a Bomb."

Ska is alive. Operation Ivy isn't coming back. Mustard Plug will blow your mohak, spiked, bowled, comb over, and parted hair off, my friends.

Who cares what the hell you call it? It's a cool album with some cool tunes. It isn't one of my faves but I'd consider it worth having. There's something about their singer that I just don't like, however.

nothing wrong with distorted guitars and horn lines. Its just that people are misinformed and consider this ska, when its really not. Ska honestly doesnt have distortion, ska-punk does. It seems a little trite to comment on that, but its true. Mustard Plug aren't keeping ska alive, they are one of a million bands keeping punk with horns alive. I like Mustard Plug a lot, I saw them in concert and thought they put on a hell of a show. This album is not even as close to their other stuff though, this is my least fave Plug CD.

oh quit being such a purist prick, they may not be first wave straight from jamaica, but they ARE part of the newer ska sound. get used to it and quit whining every time you hear a distorted guitar with a horn line.

This isn't anything special. I prefer my ska-core to have a bit more balls, AAA or Assorted Jellybeans style.

sure pray for mojo is high quality
but there is nothing special about this album or band.

There are heaps of better ska bands out there.

Good album, but if you call this ska, there is something wrong with the world. Try Hepcat, Slackers, Chris Murry, Stubborn Allstars, etc. Now that is ska.

stubborn allstars and slackers are much better ska, and no band has ever been cooler than johnny socko, but mustard plug is pretty decent. i like throw a bomb- fathead

I really don't care for Mustard Plug. I'll give 'em a 5 because the album title came from a Simpsons episode. If you want good ska-core listen to Less than Jake.
