I still remember the only fight I ever had in my life. I must have been about 12 or 13, but to me it still feels like it was a life/death struggle. Fortunately the teacher seperated us, but I remember how that schoolyard became all quiet during and right after the fight. People were ecstatic and just loved it! I didn’t though, I remember I was crying like a little baby afterwards, even though I think I beat him up more than he did me (probably wishful thinking?). Anyway, since then, I’m proud to say that I always ran away from fights, and I really think it’s not because I was a coward or was afraid of getting beaten up; it’s just that I think that violence is only useful in very limited cases. I’d first want to emphasize that I didn’t grow up in a violent environment like Boston and I have had a pleasant, normal life, with a fulltime job and a comfortable house to live in, and therefore some might judge I shouldn’t have been reviewing this. thank you for this. thank you for this. These FSU fuckheads remind me an awful lot of the Courage Crew. I live close to Cincinnati and I see Courage Crew assholes at a lot of shows and they are just absolutely despicable. FSU vs. DMS favorite non violent hardcore groups "Shut up. You're from Boston, therefore your opinions and views don't count. And every band you've mentioned is fratboy jockcore. Dickhead." you couldn't be more wrong. mental, righteous jams, converge, bane(suburbs but close enough), ten yard fight, in my eyes - not one of them is even close to being toughguy. the guy with the long ost you're all bashing is one of very few in these comments with a brain. there are few to no FSU fights on the DVD, there's an FSU chapter where i'm from and i can't say i've ever seen them start a fight over something stupid. maybe they didn't like someone talking to a girl, lots of guys will hit someone if they're talking to their g/f it's not just FSU. the DVD just shows how things are, if you don't like how things are in Boston, don't move there i'd also not recomend moving to Philly or NYC either. just shut your mouths, go to whatever shows you go to wherever that don't have fights and shut up already. Beating down "nazis" (as if they can tell from how someone looks these days) is stupid. FSU uses a Nazi mentality. "All I've ever heard that's been huge in Boston has been this tough-guy bullshit. " We have FSU types in KC, too. They're all grossely overweight thirty year olds who rock out to bands with lyrics like "the strong will survive". Also, Nazi Skins are not the status quo. I'm against their beliefs, and think that they are assholes, but you're wrong. Also, you're wrong about DC. College kids? Maybe. But DC (as I've pointed out before) had everything from all-black hardcore to skinhead street-punk. All I've ever heard that's been huge in Boston has been this tough-guy bullshit. fuck 'em. the fsu kicked some of my friends asses for talking to a girl they werent supposed to... and they lurk at all the cool places and know who everyone is (its fucking creepy). i've had assholes tell me "they're real so don't fuck around".. as if it matters. i say, let them feel all self-important like, because no one seems to give a shit. To the guy below me "That's bullshit. Black Flag's shows may have been brutal, but I still say that beating the shit out of everyone around you is stupid. The main difference being, when the original "beatdowns" occured (in DC, back when Choke was probably still rocking to KISS), they were against a status quo/group of people who were against punks. In-fighting wasn't what it was about. I think I'll buy the Star Wars trilogy instead of this and keep on listening to Dillinger escape plan for good hardcore music. People like this ruin us. That's bullshit. Black Flag's shows may have been brutal, but I still say that beating the shit out of everyone around you is stupid. The main difference being, when the original "beatdowns" occured (in DC, back when Choke was probably still rocking to KISS), they were against a status quo/group of people who were against punks. In-fighting wasn't what it was about. another thing is, i dont know how you kids can sing along with Choking Victim and Dead Keneddys about killing cops, and listen to and rock Black Flag whos all songs were about Violence and agression, THE PUNK HARDCORE band of all time, whos shows were riddle with fights and violence. All the video has is footage of toughguys beating other tough guys. keep talking shit you little fucks, you have no idea who your fucking with...We will hit you with our walkers then jump on our larks put on our skully caps go back to our parents houses and watch the re runs of our gang "we will have a tea party at your house" keep talking shit you little fucks, you have no idea who your fucking with... nobody outside boston takes these 30something losers seriously. hit the gym somemore bros. maybe a job will find you! "After reading that board for five minutes I feel much less optimistic about human intelligence." 'keep talking shit you little fucks, you have no idea who your fucking with' keep talking shit you little fucks, you have no idea who your fucking with After reading that board for five minutes I feel much less optimistic about human intelligence. I live in Boston and some of the FSU kids are alright I suppose. I thought the video was dumb and not really funny since watching people get beat up for no reason is not really funny. Watching my dad beat my mom wasn't funny either. I was really upset that these kids never give any explanation as to why there beating up people and it's always 6 on 1 how fair is that. It sort of reminded me of when I would get beat up by the football team for not liking rap music. They say they ran the nazis out of town, from hardcore shows maybe, there are still nazis in boston are they really that naieve, and are they any better with there tactics? Violence breeds violence. i was looking at that message board, and now theres kids out shooting their own copycat 'beatodnwn' footage hoping to send it in for the next boston beatdown. Actually, it doesn't matter since it's easier to get ass by being out and out homosexual than being homophobic and feeling the need to prove your "manhood" by beating up on weaker people. I may be a twerp, but I am an honest twerp. bsd, There's really no justification for this behavior. Bands from Boston are like chicks, always bitching at each other. "maybe its cool to be a tough guy in high school but when you're 30 and acting like that, you're just a joke." most of the people whining about this DVD probably haven't even seen it. and if you notice the majority of the fights on the DVD do not take place at shows but are just street fights for the most part involving hardcore kids. my only complaint about it is the length, it needs to be longer than 30 minutes. Favorite non-violent hardcore groups: A shame that self-assurance still lingers in such a primordial fashion. FSU is hardcore kids, bikers, and criminals. There good guys, i like them, i know them. The DVD is good, and funny. Steve Jones, is this you? i read some of the threads on the boston beatdown site. these guys are unreal. no shit their lives are rough, they're grownups acting like children, who the fuck is gonna show them any respect except for each other. losers. maybe its cool to be a tough guy in high school but when you're 30 and acting like that, you're just a joke. "I still have no clue why Chad from New Found Glory (shouldn’t he be that mall-punk?) ever endorsed this release." I'll agree with Anonymous two posts down, and then simply state that this whole scenario literally makes me sick to my stomach. I have to applaud bands like Comeback Kid for taking lyrical stands like they are against this crap. I for one applaud the profiting off of senseless violence. Favorite non-violent hardcore groups: I'm guessing a band called STAND AND FIGHT isn't gonna be peaceful... Fuck. I don't know about modern hardcore. Bane is cool, though. Favorite non-violent hardcore groups: Alright...change of subject? This is the first review ever where absolutely no one likes the item in question. best review i've seen on here. I've seen fsu guys claim it isnt them doing the beatings in the videos, but they are still profiting from it (and by promoting it, attracting lots of meatheads to hardcore) What's the thing on the cover with a gun? Does someone get the "ultimate beatdown" in this? Hahaha, I think Steve Jones' comment might be the funniest thing he's said yet. It's a good thing Boston sucks hard in general, or this movement might really be a problem. The worst thing abou fsu is all the faggots from philadelphia and other places who go to boston every four months or so beat up a few kids and think they're brothers with the boston fsu meatheads. i hope they all stop breathing as soon as possible "shai hulud son..chad is more hardcore than all of you" My problem with some of the straight-edge kids (both violent and non-violent) is that they all have this gang mentality. this shit is gay. this kind of violence is eerily reminiscent of the old days when skinheads roamed aroud in packs, doing 20 on 1 beat downs of kids at shows, shutting down shows, and being the general scum of the earth. i shudder to think what would happen if i accidentally bumped into one of these guys at a show and get punished for "being out of line." fuck these guys. fuck nazi skinheads. and fuck the bands that try to incite violence at shows. this is NOT HARDCORE. someone needs to make a dvd exploiting the good side of punk/ska/hardcore. whatever it is, a dvd is needed showing the unity and care that 98% of the kids who dont support this boston beatdown shit have. My problem with some of the straight-edge kids (both violent and non-violent) is that they all have this gang mentality. I'm from Boston, and all I've gotta say is: Score is for the girls that attend FSU I say fuck em all.. This is encouraging, hopefully the kids who are getting into hardcore now will see how ridiculous this shit is and shun this kind of attitude when they get older. I saw those FSU fags at the Blacklisted performance at Hellfest and its fucking hilarious. These obvious homosexuals-in-denial run around purposely hitting the audience because they had the nerve to just stand there and not hit things. Its a fucking shame that they'll never get laid consentually and that when they do pull off a date rape the girl will laugh at their indescribibly small penises after months of therapy. If I could wipe these fucks off the face of the earth, there wouldn't even have been a Boston Beatdown DVD 1. This shit is scary... when does the line get crossed between beating someone down and actually beating them to death.. it only takes once to put you in jail for life.. and throwing fists is real "tough" until someone pulls a fuckin gun and puts you in the ground.. lets see how tough you and your mob mentality crews are when some kid you decide to throw a beating to pulls a gun on you.. these pricks are the reason that kids feel the need to carry weapons.. absolutely anti-social nonsense that does more harm then good.. wish i could give this shit a ZERO.. That review was dead-on. Fuck these guys. if you want to get some good laughs in, spend a couple minutes going through that forum. absolutely hilarious. guys talking shit about bands, calling anti-racist bands racists, guys threatening to beat up skinheads, un-fucking-believable. they're all 13 year olds trapped in 23 year old testerone filled bodies. http://www.bostonbeatdown.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1638&sid=163 31f6a3cdbd71b4ce90eb4432f6c65 hey look they do have internet I hope this is just the fringe "sub-culture" of the Boston scene. Or perhaps its a poor representation of their daily lives. I really hope these FSU fellas aren't like this in person when you meet them on the street. I got beat up by 6 frat guys last weekend...it sucked. I hope they die. For the record, Fuzzy also wrote a review of this giving it the same score and making the same observations, but using a lot more profanity and less elaboration, so I ran with this one. No hard feelings, Justin? One of the best reviews I've ever read. "shai hulud son..chad is more hardcore than all of you" this seems less of a review of the actual release and more a critique of the mentality behind it, but it's a well written and intelligence one, i give it thumbs up. and yeah, this boston beatdown shit sounds idiotic. thank god for the more tolerant bay area hardcore scene here. "I’d first want to emphasize that I didn’t grow up in a violent environment like Boston and I have had a pleasant, normal life, with a fulltime job and a comfortable house to live in, and therefore some might judge I shouldn’t have been reviewing this." These guys are bringing down the scene, man... So this is what all the fuss is about. This is one of the best reviews I've ever seen on this site. D12 could kick these guys' asses. shai hulud son..chad is more hardcore than all of you this shit is about as homosexual as it gets. boston beat off |
