Let's start off by saying that the controversy and legend surrounding The Dwarves is one unmatched by any band in music today. The stories of decadence and debauchery have long overshadowed the band's career have even garnered some hatred on themselves for doing and saying what they do.

I think it's the diversity on this album that really makes it great. I liked the QOTSA bashing, but I heard that Josh Homme attacked Blag with a bottle at a gig - fucking ridiculous. GG > Blag. First listen was like "what the fuck?" If you're into the Dwarves, it will grow on you though... Well said cos. "I much prefer the new school. In fact, I hate the Clash, Black Flag, and all those other lame, poorly produced bands with stupid lyrics and uninspired melodies." it is getting that time of the year for candy patrol, isn't it? i loved that chinatown opened his statement saying his cd collection is comprised mostly of stuff on labels much smaller than fat, as if that is supposed to validate his coolness. robert, ChinaTown Your Failing Miserably at being the "psuedo intellectual". Maybe you can do better somewhere else, but its bad here This wreck is great. It's like they're trying too hard to be witty and ironic while at the same time they're not... you'll understand if you own this record. Runaway #2 is wicked. " atleast the Dwarves make fun of shit bands like Good Charlotte and Queens of the stone age. And don't bring pavement into this. ChinaTown- "Minor Threat is the exception, but only because a) it's MacKaye's band. Let's recap Chinatown's take... this is the worst Dwarves Lp they ever did dear chinatown, Will everyone please stop talking about the Lawrence Arms like they are the cutting edge of individuality in punk music, because they make mediocre, bland power pop. The lines cutting down Good Charlotte in “Massacre” are priceless. Ive never been a huge Dwarves fan, but I dig this "i bet that first comment was by robert. LONG LIVE THE DWARVES BITCH!" I still hate the Clash, so sue me (Joe Strummer & the Mescawhatevers were pretty good though). lawrence arms are not experimental skatepunk, what?! your statement is deterred by songs such as nebraska, eighteen inches and the revisionist. look im not saying theyre pop punk im just saying who cares My god man, giving two or three song examples doesn't validate your point. The Lawrence arms write pleasing melodies and hooks. They even have a "sellout record" -- every song on "Apathy and Exhaustion" has a catchy chorus, the recording is glossy, there's lots of compression on it. It's poppy but they're obviously influenced by punk bands. Same thing with LIfetime. Ari Katz and Dan Yemin wrote some of the most memorable hooks and poppy melodies that to this day are still stuck in my head but i would call them melodic post hardcore or something. Midtown, NFG, and Fallout boy can be classified as bad pop-punk or mall punk. Also, bashing on a band because of poor production is retarded and saying the Clash and Black Flag have pointless lyrics yet saying you like MInor Threat because Dischord put it out makes you seem uninformed. Dillinger Four and the Larry Arms play "real punk music" too, and they happen to be a lot better at it than these midgets. I smell a gimmick. Don't get suckered in or you'll step right in it too. The Dwarves are one of the coolest bands ever and punk fucking rock. They really do rock and people who say they suck, they're not punk at all, these guys are one of the most punk rock things you'll probably see today. impeccable This record is in the running for the Top 10 of the year, no doubt about it. As it's been since "Young and Good Looking," the production is top notch! "SLC" is the evil side of the Archies...
