I'm beginning to realize that Noreaster Media writes the worst press sheets ever. Note to Alone Records: get someone else to do your press sheets.

I dunno man, it's not half-bad, but it's not very groundbreaking. The band name and CD name and CD art is lame, but it sounds more like Rites of Spring than this newfangled shit we've been getting from screamo bands these days. The screaming isn't overdone, it's not forced out; i.e. they haven't been studying up on their favorite metalcore acts to brush up their style.

That being said, it's still a CD full of the male perspective of a breakup. I think the last thing I need is more guys screaming about how their heart was broken. Yeah, dude, we've all been dumped before, so we don't need to hear about it all the time. I mean, do we really live in this sappy of a culture? Every time a guy gets his heartbroken, he goes out, gets a guitar, and starts a band. And I'm just tired of it. It's a concept so overdone.

There are really only three allright tracks on this seven tracked EP. The first one is decent, and the last three are the best. These are the fast tracks that are high energy and somewhat interesting, but to tell you the truth, they don't really hold my attention. If I want to listen to something fast, I would rather break out Bad Brains or Minor Threat. This stuff isn't for me. It might be for you. But whatever. Listen to it, see if you like it, if you don't fine, if you do, fine. What do I care?

This cd rips, i wont call u an dumbass jesse but u really should have takes more time to listen to this release, its emotional but more like the 90's emo that this site praises so highly, the riffs are well done and the vocals are emotional and intense

good god. too under-rated. great great GREAT nineties styled emo/screamo. the artwork is the shit, pretty sparse and autumnel. great guitar work, drumming and the singer has a kick ass voice. yah. check out the pine too, hooray for alone records

I dig this, hell, I like pretty everything Alone has released. Although Of Death is pretty iffy.

And dude, they like didn't come after Pavement. And Pavement are the only band that mattered.

I agree that Pavement has some faily obscure lyrics, but every other claim you make is bogus. Go listen to "In the Mouth a Desert" and "Gold Soundz" and tell me that they're toneless and unlistenable. They're not.

Jesse, let's be honest here, Screamo might not be your taste specifically, but you make it seem like the absolute worst music around.

There's so much terrible music branched off hardcore, metalcore and tough-guy specifically, screamo actually has some substance to it.

True, most of the bands that did it so well (Indian Summer, Saetia, Jerome's Dream, You And I) are broken up, but bands like this, Yaphet Kotto, and a few others are still trying to keep it alive.

I agree with the other kid, that you should just stop doing screamo reviews. I know you get sent stuff, and are obligated, and blah blah, but kids get such a jaded view of how good screamo can be by somebody who never enjoyed it in the first place.

Because maintaining a website by yourself isn't DIY? If you want to break down into the actual ethos of it all...

Geocities is owned by Yahoo! so if you use it, you're in fact not using a DIY system, but perpetuating money for Yahoo! through it's use of advertising. Geocities sites, indeed, do perpetuate corporate conglomerates.

On the other hand, maintaining your own site with your own money, now THAT would be DIY. Everyone and their Grandma knows how to maintain a basic website, or at least knows someone who does.

So your argument is moot.

jesse...i give up on you...i have nothing left to say unless you wanna respond to the all the things i presented you with in the Funeral Diner review...all i have to say is "haha their official website is a geocities site"...yeah it's hilarious when bands do things themselves (see: DIY) rather than having a nice spiffy, flashy official website with lots of cool flash animation and graphics...douche...

that's another interesting thing: i agree with a whole damn lot of your tastes... except your (it seems so) animosity towards screamo.
still: your taste. but it's sad when kids who would have maybe enjoyed funeral diner decide to not check them out because of a one star review.
my point is.... ahem, there is no point. i just like saddest landscape. and hüsker dü. did i mention that they wrote the best records ever?

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't this band have members of indian summer? i think it does. they are no run of the mill band if so. i haven't heard this this new release from them but i like what i've heard from them in the past very much..... the score is for indian summer.

Hey man, CDs aren't always meant to be reviewed by people who love them or love the genre. That's why it's important for a reviewer to have a body of work, so you can go through and see if you agree with my tastes or not. You really like this band, so you can write your own review if you want to. That's what's beautiful about Punknews being sort of a social forum. Anyone can get published.

next time you get funeral diner, saddest landscape, wolves or anything like that, please pass it on to someone who can appreciate it.
