Drivel. Well-executed, but drivel nonetheless. Killradio rally against nearly everything (take that teachers… how dare you make us learn) and offer nothing, really. Sure, with this major label production, this CD sounds damn tight. And I will give them some credit because they can write a catchy song and a powerful song. I even thought I might like it on first listen, until I realized how much they were just pulling from successful formulas, producing MTV/Fuse/radio-ready tunes. All with a name like Killradio.

Initially, I liked this album. I heard "Scavenger" on some sampler CD, and it sounded like Rancid, if Rancid was better produced and had random screams. Its catchy and poppy, but the lyrics lack substance, and it's all a bit overdone. Not that bad, but not something I'd want to listen to all that often. Op Ivy was good, but it seems like every band that was "influenced" by them is terrible. (Rancid, The Code, Choking Victim). I like the music, but if you're a teen that like following things to be a rebel (even if you dont think thats the reason, trust me, it is) doesnt change the fact that just by trying to force ignorant people's opinions (indoctrination?) bands like Killradio are doing what they're 'against' in their very own music! Dont get me wrong, i really like killradio; from a purely musical perspective. Politics and music are not a good mix, because ignorants think that if they like music then the lyrics must be true and they just believe what they hear. As killradio say in their own song, "Ad Jam", "That's what I said, you know it's true, I think he gave it a good review. Cept for including the art and comparing them to half the sellouts on the radio. Altogether good though. Killradio is awesome. Yeah, they do rally against a lot of stuff but seriously dude, music is so corporated now that the only way to make real money is to go with the media. Look at how much Greenday changed. I am glad to see a band on a major record label to be so open with their political beliefs... i know MANY people wont agree with what i have to say buut that SUUCKS FOR YOU bucket of diarrhea > Killradio These guys fucking rock! i've seen them in concert!!!! fuck the reviewer!!!! There's a song from this band on "Need For Speed : Underground 2" this shit isn't nearly as bad as the review (or the artwork) would make you think "this review is completely spot on" this review is completely spot on. They do write a tight song, which I mentioned, and yes I like Op Ivy and Clash and all that which I did alreayd mention in a post... I did give this 3 points, I could have given 1 but it wasnt THAT bad. It's all opinion people, but your opinion is WRONG! jk... I agree with Scott, I think this record is one of the stronger records to come out this year, and I don't think it sounds like any bands currently. In fact I would be delighted if more bands were borrowing from The Clash, OP Ivy, Sublime instead of from Blink 182 (tons of shite bands) and then their is the whole lame crop of bands that 'think they sound like Refused" but they are oh so shite. Jesus. If you are going to write a review, pull your head out of your ass first. I just listened to this band and they aren't half bad. They aren't the most inventive band, no. But they definitely aren't bad. You write a review like a 14 year old girl, who's angry at her mother for taking away the phone. mmm...whippits... I don't see how you can think that about 5 different genres of punk rock are all trendy right now. What's with people thinking everything is trendy? The reviewer is a retard, this album rocks hard and should be considered one of the best abums of the year, I feel sorry for you if your main focus is finding ways to make it look like killradio are sellouts, hell, they didnt have many fans when they were signed, its just someone at columbia knows what they are doing. To say that killradio sucks for copying other bands is just retarded, look at half the bands on here and tell me that they are completely original, fuck you dude, get a life and dont buy cd's so you can find ways to hate them. "Does anyone know the real story behind this band and A-F? A-F signed these guys like two years ago, but something happened..." Score is for Jet, hopefully the go the way of The Vines. I too enjoyed this CD a lot. Yes they're too good a band to be anti-*, especially radio (since their songs fit so well on it) and their bandname is retarded, but they write some awesome tunes. They also do not suck live. I saw them with MCR and Coheed once and everyone was crying that they sucked but they were all gayfags anyway who cried when you moved in the crowd. Brian - even bad bands must rip off the greats, and I had to compare them to something people have heard... but you must realize these guys fail in their attempts. Scott, I'm suprised at you, usually you think I'm too easy on things and we have the opposite situation. But I stand by my opinion. Suckage. saw this band play, and i can say that they are in the top three worst bands i've ever seen live, complete and utter shit Well I followed SR-71 after that first CD. Why, I don't know. this is one of those bands that you will never hear of again after a year. Wrong. Surely you jest that taking from The Clash and Operation Ivy is a bad thing, Gregory... |
