As derivative as it is, Relient K's symmetrically-titled Mmhmm is still a mostly solid batch of major label pop-punk, if there ever was such a thing, and is a fair accomplishment for a 14-track / 50-minute effort of the genre, creative enough to hold its own. It's a wonder to see how a band can put out annual offerings like they do and avoid filler, but the band's fourth proper full-length manages it for the most part, never going too poppy or whiny, and is helped by crisp if not questionable production.

They are great ambassadors for Christ going and touring with secular bands and getting the message of Jesus to those that have never heard it before. And what better way than great sounding punk! I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I can't stop listening to this album The best RK album so far. They get better every album. The first one was dumb except for like two songs. The second had about 5 songs that I'd listen to on a fairly regular basis. The third I could listen all the way through but was lacking in some areas. And this one simply rules. Look guys this is an album that is really creative and really good....to some people. I personally think it is very good possibly their best album so far. Just because a band is not your style doesnt give you a right to bash them. Maybe it is just easier to cope, with the fact that your "old school/hardcore/punk" band is going nowhere while some powerpop/punk group is selling hundreds of thousands of records, while you are making fun of them.
