I’m just going to be completely honest, and say I’ve always hated U2. I was never a big fan of their music to begin with; Bono being one of the most arrogant people in music doesn’t help my distaste for them in the slightest. So naturally, when a copy of the Frames fifth release Burn The Maps found its way to my desk, I was a little skeptical. This five piece from Ireland have been commonly know not only for their dynamic mood and tempo shifts, but the ability to pull both off well and put out some driving, beautiful rock music. So does Burn The Maps pick up where the band left off with 2001’s For The Birds?

does this album sound punk at all? or just sort of light grungy irish influenced pop rock? first of all there are many celebrities that make tons of money. few of them are as dedicated to causes as Bono is. you have no idea how much money he contributes so don't pretend you do. it could be 50,000 a year that he contributes. you don't know. he also does more than just donate money. he's taken active roles in politics, not that i can name anything off the top of my head. Eh, Salman Rushdie is friends with Bono. That was me below, don't know why the hell I wasn't logged in. He's done a lot because he's been given the means to. You think for a second that if Bono was working at some factory in Detroit he'd be giving a shit? No. Bono may be a bit arrogant, but at the same time he's done a lot more for this world than a dozen average men will do in their lifetime. Granted, he has the opportunity which thus should not belittle anyone else, but at least he's doing something with it. I respect the guy, and you should all be glad he exists if you like little African boys with chubby stomachs due to excess liquid preservation. if you're lookin for a great band from ireland, i'd suggest Kila. great irish music with a lot of world influences.....if that makes any sense at all. regardless, go listen to Luna Park. it's wonderful. i'd also suggest clann zu, but i wouldn't necessarily say that they're from ireland. You may dislike U2, Review sucks, but I agree about the U2 thing. Bono just kind of has that jackass look, and...THE EDGE. Doesn't he spell his name with all caps? What a fucking idiot. U2 = Just a bunch of boring honkey music. I L♥VE TO HAVE FUN& PRTY!! {{-¼Of TheSCH who cares what he calls himself, he's a great guitarist. "i really cant see how anyone can hate U2 if they were to listen to "boy" "october" and "war". those 3 records are great." i really cant see how anyone can hate U2 if they were to listen to "boy" "october" and "war". those 3 records are great. i'll be honest here, i hate breakfast cereal. Ahh......I'll stick with the A-Frames. i'll be honest here, i hate breakfast cereal. jones the bones fuck you yu fuckin bono wannabee Ahh ok, no big deal. It's just sort of random :) There's no correlation other than the fact that U2 is the only band from Ireland I could think of, so it made me a bit skeptical Does U2 have anything to do with this release other than the fact that they're from Ireland as well? Your opening sort of confuses me there. |
