Most people usually would think about the same things if you were to ask them what Sweden is like. Beautiful blonde women, snow, and people with names like Sven and Magnus. Upon further questioning, anybody who’s into metal would also note the Swedish metal that has such a signature sound. Well, Jacob Bannon's label Deathwish Inc. have gone out and signed Sweden’s latest export, Nine, and have put out their American debut, Killing Angels.

Prolly...though their sound was balls-out raw punk with the single best female vocalist I have ever heard. They did a cover of the vibrator's "whips and furs" on their 7" and it is absolute magic. "Man, everytime i see that deathwish logo i get excited because i think its a new record by the deathwish kids...who are one of the best unknown punk bands ever. But they are long fucking gone. anyway..." I'm usually about 3 rocks into the pipe by the time I'm hitting up punknews.org. I usually hit Havoc, 625, and sound-pollution first because they feature bands i've actually heard of. uhhhh... the logos at the bottom of the page... how do you see it and not the review? one of the best labels around Man, everytime i see that deathwish logo i get excited because i think its a new record by the deathwish kids...who are one of the best unknown punk bands ever. But they are long fucking gone. anyway... I'm hate it when reviews start with stereotyping the country the band comes from. |
