The use of the word "objectivity" as something factual and tangible is something that has a tendency to irk me quite a bit. The very existence of that word and concept baffles me to no end since there is no such thing; it's quite simply a glaring fallacy. Subjectivity on the other hand is something very real, something real life decisions consistenly hang on. The fact that Buried Inside are from what I more or less consider my hometown (Ottawa), that they're some of the nicest chaps I've ever met and that one of their guitar players (Andrew Tweedy) is responsible for doing an amazing job on the mixing and mastering of my own band's record, are all factors that would serve to make this review lean considerably on the subjective side. So it's with quite a bit of regret and disdain that I'll assure you that I tried to make this piece as 'objective' as possible. Ouch, that hurt.

But yeah, check Suspect Symmetry out fer hizzle. Even faster, Converge-ish type metal. Amazing. Also, check out mid- Back When. Phenom. One of the loudest bands I have ever seen live, in a good way. They are truly doing their own thing, and at times it is awe inspiring. This is one of the best heavy records that I have heard in awhile. I was about to call you insane Toledo...I'm glad you've come to your senses! Opinion Change: ROCKS THE SHIT This album absolutely kills everything in sight. if i had more than 2 thumbs theyd all be up... this cd has a place in my 6 cd stereo along with several isis cds and none of them will be replaced soon. not bad... not really good though... This is my favorite record released so far this year. It truly is a landmark in the tired scene of hardcore, and brings to mind the same brilliance of past masterpieces such as Jane Doe, We Are The Romans, and Calculating Infinity. A record that stands out among its peers, and honestly is one of the most captivating and crushing heavy records that you will ever hear. nice to see everyone agreeing on how truely incredible this album is. i'll being seeing them in denver on the 4th with denver's own sonic doom wizards Across Tundras. gonna be SICK Mos def gonna check this shit out. Yes please do change the profile in the review. Thanks Six_53JM - I can modify your user name in the review info to match your actual one. Just say the word. i will have to check this out. i've been hyping this release since time as surrogate religion was released. awesome album. check out suspect symmetry as well. some real gems on that one. Awsome awsome awsome CD! these are going to make a big impression in hardcore. Good review too! i agree with you completely... ive also had the cd for a couple months being in canada and i absolutely love it.. the entire experience of listening to the album start to finish is truly amazing, they really have done an awesome job.. Thanks for the kind words everyone. About the Isis comparison, I've had Chronoclast since November (the canadian release) so for me both records came out the same year. Oh and by the way, please disregard the profile presented in the review, this is my actual profile. Great review, especially for it being your first. Damn, that's a well written review. goddamn reading that hurt my eyes. it's better than someone using a very small vocabulary i suppose. Circle is a little more pretentious and spazmatic the circle takes the square of 2005? This cd is fucking mind blowing! EVERYONE who likes hardcore should get this cd. damn, i was gonna sit down tonight and write a review for this one, and here it is. but that's cool. great review anyways. and you got it right, not many releases of the past can even come close to this album. Great review, though that Isis release came out last year. |
