Drive-Thru Records consistently puts out catchy emo-rock records, with Hidden In Plain View's Life In Dreaming no exception. Everything you could possibly want in a modern day emo release is present: the crunchy, melodic guitar lines, the raspy vocals, and the upbeat rhythm section. Hidden In Plain View does, however, play this formulaic style quite well.

bleed for you is the only song i could listen to seriously. i couldnt even make it to the end of the other songs, just skipped them half way through. the music is medicore but lyrics just fucking suck. but what can you expect from DR Records?! i love this cd! bands don't always have to be completely original. if it's good, why change it? it's all about how the music makes the listener feel, and this band makes my day. hipv definitely deserves more stars. good cd Chris this is one of the shortest reviews I have ever read, but truthfully is one of the best. I think Hidden In Plain View is a really great band but only in small doses. I'm so glad you didn't diss this genere of music like most reviewers do, that is so gay. I give this 3 1/2 stars with ease. Not bad, keep up the good work it's a hell of a lot better than their old stuff. the pop songs like 'the point' 'halcyon daze' and 'garden statement' are the best stuff they do. songs like 'ashes to ashes' just sound like bog standard post-hardcore. "Also, total fanboy review." What a terrible band. I mean really, really bad. It hurts to give them a try... Two of the members used to be in some NJ ska band, haha. I'm listening to it right now and agree 100% with the reviewer. Good but not anything outstanding. Definately Drive-Thru worthy. Jesus christ. I usually hate people that say this, but this is NOT emo (and I even consider JEW to be emo). I listen to a lot of pussy music, but these guys are even below my threshold of corniness. Pass. i saw this band like four years ago and they blew You both need new writers. Well, Crooked, I'm sure China is better at spelling things correctly than you. Drive Thru realse RX Bandints stuff too, and their much better than you Chinatown. These guys played at my college last semester. I left after one song. I heard some lyric keys to the heart not fitting, and decided that even free, this show was too much to pay. I realy like this! Chinatown: I know this site has an obligation to cover Drive Thru bands...but if didn't, I wonder how many people would really notice or object... all i know is that they blow live. Who cares what this band or record sounds like? Drive Thru released it. Enough said. I was hoping to see a more informative review than that. I remember hearing their ep(?) a while back. Nothing special going on there. As for this, the review doesn't really tell me anything about what they sound like, and based on the vast majority of the Drive Thru catelogue, i can't see this being any good. I don't even know where to begin with what's wrong with this review. try again. The reviews on this site have gone so downhill. This review is so NOT informative. You can't just say its the "same old" hipv when i dont know what that is. You meant to say that Drive Thru has consistently put out the worst artists of all time. This is an incredible album, but the review stinks You serious, Clark? |
