Silverstrand has that major-label debut feel to it. Much like former label mates Yellowcard, Over It moved to California, garnered a strong fan base, built a bigger hype machine, beefed up their production, and seems ready to break into TRL countdowns and late-night talk shows. Sure, they’re still on Lobster Records, but you sure can’t tell from the overall feel of this record, which is a huge compliment to the label. Thankfully, Over It manages to deliver something that most recent major label signees haven’t: good music.

TOO ALL H8ERS! to any haters- yea..really greenvandal. so true. A better question is, who ISNT in a fucking band these days. These guys played at my school last week. I walked out after about 30 seconds of it. Not for me. "Good points Duped. Sometimes it's important to remember that music can be brainless fun too. Something can be "good" without being good, if that makes sense!" Good points Duped. Sometimes it's important to remember that music can be brainless fun too. Something can be "good" without being good, if that makes sense! "Let me be honest, all you kids out there who bash bands cant be into music that much. Regardless if you like it or not, its music, and if it werent for music the world would not be the same, so its time for you to, i know its a big word but, appreciate music. And if you dont like it, shut your mouth no one wants to hear it anyways." "Let me be honest, all you kids out there who bash bands cant be into music that much. It seems like there're less songs on soulseek than before." Let me be honest, all you kids out there who bash bands cant be into music that much. Someone told me police had to be called... Totally hysterical. A band is hyped on AP.net, so you all bash it. Good work, kids. The Silverstrand is a beach in California where lots of surfers go. "You should be shot for saying that." Score is for the punk rock pirate song. Good review. In an overall perspective I really thought Timing Is Everything is a much stronger effort, but this is still a good album none the less. i havent heard this and i dont have to. i saw these guys play years ago and i thought they rocked. not only that i remember the singer being bummed because Pollen was supposed to play the show and they were absent due to a van breakdown. Talked to him for a while about Pollen, and anyone who is into Pollen knows their shit. Kind of like how not only does Joey Cape rock but he rocks more for doing the Bad Astronaut/Armchair Martian split and discovering the talents of John Snodgrass and company. can't stand this. Choosing Rise Against over these guys at the Warped Tour was a hhhhhhhuuuuuuuggee mistake Dear Over It, Get a behind the scene view of Silverstrand with this interview: http://www.pastepunk.com/viewfeature.php?id=148 timing is everything was a great cd, although i've always felt the production was lacking (staring back's 'on' was recorded mere days before at the same studio, with the same producer, and the same equipment, and sounds epic, comparitively). this cd was a total disappointment. Yeah I'm fully expecting this to be superb. Not as good as timing is everything, but still... not many albums can be. Choosing Rise Against over these guys at the Warped Tour was a hhhhhhhuuuuuuuggee mistake. To he who said Ignore the Noise rips and would like their older stuff... It's a solid, sunny day emo/pop-punk album. I was hoping for more of their high-speed melodicore though. this band has the potential to get huge! Killer album. There's no reason why a major shouldn't swoop in and re-release this, as it is insanely radio-ready (but in a good way). I wish The Gamits would have headlined over these guys on their last tour. This band is pretty lame. From what I can tell, I think I'd like Over It's older stuff, since my favorites here are "Ignore The Noise" and the "punk rock pirate" song. Save for "Siren On The 101," the rest is pretty forgettable and a bit overly poppy. | Features
