This was my first time seeing rise against and i was so impressed. The show was exactly what I was expecting. These boys put on an amazing show with so much energy. Rise against does exactly what music is for, they allow people to escape and their ability to bring so many people together is amazing. Their music all around is so good. They have really thought provoking lyrics and their instrumentals are really catchy. No doubt these boys have some serious talent, and I feel priveleged to have had to oppritunity to see these guys play live. Ive been hooked from their frist song I ever heard, which was "like the angel" and i cant wait for their next album to come out. All you people out their have their right to their own opinion about these guys and their music, but do keep an open mind, because rise against is probably the best band around. They address problems that actually matter, and thats what makes them so fuckin awesome...although i didnt really pay much attention to closet monster and hostage life, the show was still fuckin kick ass.. you kno it was an amazing show when you leave sore and covered in bruises.. haha.. n e ways,

labels still post tour dates for bands no longer on their label for 2 reasons:

1) because they're cool and like to keep supporting the bands they love

2) more importantly, rise against has 2 records out on fat and therefore the more people who know about the shows, the more people go, the more fans rise against gets, the more people buy those first two records.

Rise Against is one of the few bands out there right now doing this shit for all the right reasons. That has nothing to do with their political views. It has to do with their passion for the music. That's what makes them great. 3000 or 300 people...they are there to lay it all out on the table. I'm always impressed.

On a side note...why is someone posting Big D lyrics as a comment for a show review. They're a good band, but I don't see the relavence.

I prefer smaller venues as well, with some exceptions, The Docks happens to be one of them, and in my opinion seeing Rise Against and closet monster play anywhere is good.

Well from an indoor club standpoint, to my experience larger venues make for WORSE shows.

For example: I live in Seattle, and if a show is at the Paramount Theatre (holds approx. 3000 I believe) the show is always terrible. The sound never carries well, the seating arrangements are always fucked (often either stuck in a seated area or packed like sardines into the general admission section). The tickets are also ridiculously overpriced, there's no bar, and just entering/exiting the show is a big pain in the ass.

But maybe that's just Seattle.

Sorry, the biggest club show they have ever played, they said so themselves, i should have been more specific

I'm pretty sure that little thing they do each year called the Warped Tour is a bigger show than this.

and the capacity of the docks is actually much higher than they sold tickets

Oddly Rise Agaist shows in Chicago have lost massive amounts of energy. Gone are the days when they tore up the Fireside.

bombs over providence dropped off the tour, so you didn't catch any of their set... the hostage life were boring as all hell, and the singer kept calling the crowd assholes and whatnot for not dancing... weak... LAST week.. closet monster was solid. people weren't moshing 15 minutes before rise against because it was so packed there was no room to move let alone mosh.. they played a good set but there were way too many people

You missed the fullblast and your mother sucks cocks in hell. Your life isn't worth living.
