I recently remarked to a friend that passion is the reason I love music so much. Rock and roll has, for me, always been a story of danger and adventure. It’s kind of like pirates, but with a few more guitars. Anyways, technical proficiency and complicated poetry can only get a band so far. I can certainly dig rockin’ solos and artful wordplays, but if the artist doesn’t get out there and rock it from the soul, then I won’t see anything but a guilty pleasure or worse. This passion is precisely why I love bands like Envy. They have soul like none other, and they rock it hardcore.

beautifu and intense album. Love this cd so much Amazing record. I really got obsessed with the record before this, and this one is more of the same. Marvelous band, and - without a doubt - a great record. Hopefully their recent US tour went well, so they'll be encourage to come back in the near future. this band is fucking boring. snooze! not to completely discredit them, they do some cool stuff, but overall their parts are way repetitive and boring. listen to city of caterpillar. I really like this CD. Score's for Envy, pirates, and Level Plane in general. Reminds me a shitload of old Cave In. Some of the atmospheric and subdued moments are absolutely hypnotic and the Japanese spoken word parts are beautiful. This record is pretty long and gets repetitive but overall really worth it. And yes the screams are tiring but definitely soulful and honest. | Features
