With The Dark Horse, Rochester's Achilles has taken the necessary steps to grow a bit beyond the blatant unoriginality and otherwise horribly disjointed moments that plagued their self-titled 2004 EP. It's a debut full-length that manages to capture the almost arty, epic feel only a small handful of metalcore acts manage to attain, and it's stated in under a half-hour. this record is fucking incredable. i dont really get all the "botch rip off" shit this band catches, as they are really thier own thing. if you get the chance to see this band live, i suggest you do it. they put on a great show and are loud as shit. No, more fuck you. Apocalypse is your daddy, bitch. more heavier? I've listened to every thing this band has put out, and again, they've gotten less derivative over time, but if you've heard Last Night In Town, the first comparison that's probably going to come to mind with these guys is ETID, easy. I can't be the only one that hears it. This band is excellent. Some of the most honest and passionate hardcore I've heard in a long time. And they put on a damn good show too. This band and the movie Troy have something in common. They both suck. I definitely wouldn't compare them to ETID..but they're a really good Botch rip-off. decent review, although i don't agree with your ETID comparisons. one of the most sincere and passionate bands going, i love these dudes. make sure to go see them this summer if they come to your area. the dark horse rules! | Features
