As Cities Burn may be yet another singing/screaming post-hardcore signing by Solid State Records, but fortunately, Solid State signs some solid (no pun intended) and enjoyable acts (see also: Underoath, Dead Poetic, He Is Legend), none of which are responsible for overt preachiness as well. Despite the notable absence of some strong tracks and scattered spots of overambition, As Cities Burn's debut Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest is relatively hard to disassociate with this group.

This is one of my most favorite bands one of the best hard music albulms i've ever heard, none of yall may agree with that remark, but if you don't think this is at least a good albulm, than your a fuckin disgrace to music probably one of the most played in my collection. nice dudes, even though theyre christian. As cities burn rule! i should know, im from the same town two of the members are from!, while the others are from a city an hour away. They played here as just a local band when i was like 12, and their old stuff is so good! they still play here quite often and keep getting better every time! son i loved you at your darkest is such a great album! This is an easy disk to listen too over and over and over... want to know the reason why? Because they said fuck you to the chorus structure (okay, as Christians they probably said 'excuse me').. and its bomb diggity This is my new favorite band. I love the last song "Of Want and Misery: the Nothing that kills". I enjoy a long song that allows the band to show of its musical and vocal skills. These guys are amazing and its nice to have another christian band. Christain or not, this is an amazing cd with beautiful lyrics and great music. it's the kind of cd you have to listen to a few times to really appreciate its greatness. amazing cd...... has almost ( slightly) progressive sound to it, only complaint is that cody (whoever sang on "The Widow") would sing more... I find this band amazing. They put on an amazing live show and the album only brings you right back to the front row. The brothers in this band sound so amazing together. Find me another band with they're love and energy. I really enjoy this CD, and since I read the lyrics and can now sing along, I can't escape it, I find myself always putting the disc in to listen time after time. I really enjoy the disc from beginning to end; it did grow on me though. Give it a chance and I'm sure it will do the same. By the way, GO SEE THEM LIVE...they will blow you away, Best consistent live band I have seen. idk what u guys are talking about, this bad offers everything, screaming, singing and awesome music all together, 5 out of 5 for this band as cities burn is a good band with good intentions, and they are very creative, and you, go suck a nut I was thinking the exact same thing. What are you, Gym Class Heroes? As I lay dying from autumn to ashes, and as my friends began to rust (during a funeral for a friend); the cities burnt. My chemical romance had made me mistake planes for stars which utterly ruined my equal vision. Between the buried and me, a Whilhelm stood screaming, totally failing to embrace today. ...i dont...know...its almost...as ...welll....this cd.....i kind of dont.....really....the...title....as cities....burn....its stupid...well....cock....in....my mouth.... i want to punch people who use ... in sentences (excluding myself for the sake of presentation). you sound like you're unsure of yourself and you want a cock in your mouth. so unless that's the case, stop doing it. lamer. Its a religious band and I hated this disc... *Jeebus Is that album title some lame Christianity reference? Like god talking to Jeeus or something? this seems like a band with a lot of good ideas executed poorly Great live band, even though some songs on here are pretty shaky but I'm pretty sure these guys the next time around will release one of the best albums in the genre. so, is anyone gonna review the new throw rag cd? thats a pretty good one Some good tracks on this album, but I'm glad I downloaded it over buying it. |
