The greatest denim wearing, coke snorting, alcohol abusing, glittered up supergroup to come out of Europe are back, with the incredible followup to Scandanavian Leather and the third editon to the Apocalypse series. It is entitled, rather appropriately and seemingly autobiographically, Party Animals.

i actually never listened to this album. so.... yeah. but i'm gonna give it a 10 anyway. "to the guy two posts below who hasnt learned to properly cut and paste...what the hell are you talking about with your punk points and shit? what in my comment made you think i care about all that and when you were listening to rkl? Yeah, but their great albums start with "Ass Cobra". turbonegro released at least two if not three albums before asscobra. If I had to make a list of ten bands that I wanted to see break up. This band would be in it. great review of a great album. except for the high on the crime/fire thing. keep it up. its "high on the crime" not "high on the fire" Oh, it's okay, because Ben Kweller is the "savior of pop music". The mighty Scott is always right, because he's got the license to hype. Pwned. Haha! Right in the nuts! Five stars? Jesus christ, where's the quality control around here? "Five stars? Jesus christ, where's the quality control around here? i picked this up this morning and it slays. i'd place it as the 3rd best that they have released after ass cobras and a. dudes. i should have bought this a while back instead of ordering the small feces box set, which while having some interesting cover songs, wasn't really worth the 45 bucks or whatever that i paid for it This album rocks, but there are some things in this review that bother me. Lush Looser, LL Full Gay, Turbojugend East Bay, says it's a 7/10, but that it'll probably grow on him like a fungus and he'll rate it a 10 before the end of the year. Someone on here said it really well in a recent Turbonegro news item- "This isn't as incredible as 'Apocalypse Dudes' but it still blows most current bands out of the water.' Score is for the pinhead that insinuated that I must be a some kinda cro-magnon for being a TN fan in the "Medications" item earlier in the week: Why do people put shit in parentheses? It's fucking lame. STOP IT. PLEASE. i miss the apocalypse dudes times but turbonegro still rocks, great album. concerning the cover art, if anyone actually saw the second resident evil movie, it looks like the agents' helmets all this shit that is reviewed here shows there is no quality control The cover is atrocious. Five stars? Jesus christ, where's the quality control around here? William hates ska. i really like the cover of this album. looks so clean. futuristic i'm hoping this is better than the last album. not that sl was bad but it wasn't up to par with even the first 2 albums much less the 2 before it. how can any band bam margera jerks off to get a five star review? "It may not be as perfect as Apocalypse Dudes was, but it's still guaranteed to be one the most awesome things you'll hear all year." I've heard most of the album, and it defintally isn't any Scandenavian Leather, but it is okay. I've heard most of the album, and it defintally isn't any Scandenavian Leather, but it is okay. This record is good, but it took a while to grow on me. That's rather strange, since I love TRBNGR to death. They're one of my all time favorite bands. I think they were just trying to be sleazy and Rolling Stones-y with this record, and it kind of worked, but they should stick to the deathpunk/glam fusion that just exploded all over Apocalypse Dudes. They're way better than this record shows, so I guess it's a disappointment. hey bsd that was kind of funny I heard this band gangbanged HR. turbonegro did not form in the mid-90's I've had this album now for a few months as well. I think its great, way better than most of the crap comming out nowadays. The reviewer was right on the mark - CLASSIC! For the most part this album is a homage to 70/80s party and arena rock. It's really good if you're into that kind of stuff, which I am unfortunatly am not. It tends to grate on me rather than impress me. I just wanted to try making text bold. Thanks, Dante. This kinda seems like a bit of a fanboy review to me, to be honest. Even if I thought this band were any good, I'd be a bit sceptical. Perfect score? Why can't people save those for albums that are genuinely classic, genre defining and so on, instead of rendering the scoring system effectively worthless? these guys are pretty stellar live, but i've never gotten too into their studio shit I just can't trust reviews by people who seem to love the band... I need an unbiased opinion about this band. Anyone? This is the first positive review I've read of this. I suspect bad things.... Senior Nap use < not [. not bold Well, I'd give a 10 to Apocalypse Dudes, so a 9 is fine to "Party Animals". No way this is a 10/10. This band is a joke. These guys are quite big in the UK. They were on TV one night, and are always on the listening booths in indie shops. Here's my score. Amazing album. I'll never stop loving this band. Not as perfect as Apocalypse Dudes and it still gets a 10? I'd probably give even that record an 8 (had a bit of filler) and this a 6 or 7. A 5 is average, folks. oops, didn't actually put a score. "But then I found out that it's just an "act", and in Norway, the metal scene is/was horribly competative, with murders and church burnings, and they figured what could scare metal kids more than a pantload of homosexuality? Brilliant move, I say." Turbonegro are still a great live band, but the last two albums are just pale imitations of Apocalypse Dudes, which was a classic album indeed. I was extremely confused when I first got into this band, trying to figure out if they were a gay band or not. Now, I'm not the type of dude who this would matter to a great deal, but when they have albums called "ass cobra" and are all wearing sailor outfits, and then you see photos of their singer getting married...to a woman, it tends to set off the "what the fuck" alarms. oh i see now Why so late on the review? I've had this for months now. Fantastic album. Why so late on the review? I've had this for months now. |
