The weekend of 8/19-8/22 made me realize that I still fucking have it. Just when I thought “old-man syndrome” was finally kicking in and putting me down for the count, I get my life’s second wind. 3 shows in 3 days in 3 states, plus a 6-hour drive to kick it all off. Giddy up mother fuckers.

For once, living on Long Island wasn't such a terrible thing. Amazing show i almost didnt get into this show..after seeing gorilla biscuits a few weeks back..seeing the lifetime show on sunday i couldnt wait for kid dynamite..but when i got there they ask for i.d. and because im such a slacker i didnt have..i begged and tried someone elses i.d. i was seconds from going home and crying my face off until the best person in the world (who is a cop) patrick did some talkin and got me in..that made the show ten times better..thank you once again patrick i owe you my life.. ACM- thanks so much for the video. Haha, for any of you that has sickboi's video, watch Yemin punch that kid in the first song. Awesome. Haha, thats awesome, little guy. Yeah I saw you too. I was thinking "TWO TTK shirts at a show? Now thats something new." Yeah, that was me alright, Little Guy. It was amazing. Were you around me somewhere? This show more or less made my life complete. Kid Dynamite broke up shortly after I really got into them and I never got a chance to make it to their last shows or the reunion shows they did a few years back. Does anyone have any pictures or video from the Against Me! show at Cbs a couple weeks ago? I went to both the Lifetime reunion show in Asbury Park, NJ and the Kid Dynamite show at CBGB's. Both shows were incredible. BTW for anyone who wants pictures of the Kid Dynamite show can find some here. Were you around me somewhere? nevermind... i see that sickboi is on the job. attending eitehr lifetime or the kid dynamite shows was pretty much impossible, but i rest secure in the knowledge that ive got a shitload of videos from the lifetime sow and i was able to watch this one on the cbgb webstream. I'd also like to say that the winner for this week is the argentinan kid who flew up last week, waited online over night for gorilla biscuits, went to all the lifetime shows (maybe not troc), saw 108 at the church sat afternoon, AND went to kid dynamite. We have a teaser coming in a few minutes... High five coming your way sickboi. The video will hosted very soon. I didn't want to compromise the playback quality, so the file size is a little big Someone IM me to help me set up a torrent, because I'm a total retard about this shit. I think it's more about being a discerning consumer - you've been to enough shows that the thrill of jumping around is outweighed by the fact that the band most likely sucks. "and I thought Dan couldn't play barefoot anymore for some reason......" is it possible you meant the parkway instead of the turnpike? getting from ac to nyc on the turnpike would involve a lot more hassle (not to mention be a lot more expensive). great review, anyway. and I thought Dan couldn't play barefoot anymore for some reason...... I also had no idea that Voice In The Wire got a new singer because he sounded EXACTLY like the old one. sickboi said he's uploading his video this weekend. i can only assume that he isn't a heartless lying bastard, so i guess we'll have it within the next few days. seriously, somebody please fucking please upload this to a torrent somewhere. nice review. i'm one of those people who told you grey area stole the show, but there's no denying kid dynamite played an awesome set. i think "take my chances" (the song, but the band was good too) and "birthday" were the highlights of the night for me. also, there was dan right up front singing along during grey area's set. good times. When are we gonna get a video of this? This was probably the greatest show my eyes have ever seen/will ever see. I'm thinking the same thing as inagreendase about not really having to see another show again, because I don't think any other show could top this. No offense because I'm sure the show was awesome (it looked it) but why even review this? I love you Sickboi (physically) but who there would give this less than a 10? No one. Because no one would go through what they had to go through to get tickets unless they loved KD. No one would wait in a line for hours or wait online refreshing their browers every 10 seconds unless they were a huge fan. That being said I thought the review was good, but c'mon. Who wouldn't give this a 10? It should be noted they DID do Birthday, with Ernie, who they made it a point to say many nice things about - but it wasn't on the PHYSICAL set list, so it may not have been planned, but instead they just figured "You know what, let's just do this". they played birthday too I was in line for this show at 4am. And was it worht it? Completely. Oh, and enjoyable review to read, Chris, kudos, though that's probably because, you know, I attended. Even with only what was roughly a 45-minute headlining set, I'd be okay with never going to another show again after this. |
