Never Say Die’s (otherwise known as NSDWHOA!) release of The Baby Stealing Hurricane is a well-produced, boundary-stretching EP that will leave you not only wanting more, but also wondering what in the hell you just heard. And honestly, with track names like “If This is a Revolution We Have to Offend Somebody Damnit" and "If it Wasn’t for That Bastard David Hasselhoff the Berlin Wall Would Still Be Standing,” how less than amazing can an album be?

“The Death of Mustache Metal,” the EP’s first track, opens with a surge of grind-influenced noise which appears somewhat inconsistently throughout the album. The Baby Stealing Hurricane's next track “If This is a Revolution...” takes a breather from blast beats and Dillinger Escape-like tendencies and moves into screamo-oriented territory. In fact, a bold parallel lies 20 seconds into the song with Saetia’s “Some Natures Catch No Plagues,” where choppy vocals overlap guitar work in a brilliantly catchy fashion. “If This is a Revolution,” also provides the listener with tempo changes and sing-alongs.

“She’s a Kung Fu Kick to the Throat” for the most part lacks the intensity of the first two tracks, with the exception of the presence of death metal growls that encompass the last few seconds of the track. “Make Like Richard Prior and Set Yourself on Fire” returns the listener to the grind parts that made the EP’s first track so memorable, while also incorporating smooth breakdowns into the mix.

With a band as eccentric and unique as Never Say Die (hell, the disc’s got computer generated graphics of both a walking penis and a pair of breasts wearing a top hat), your hope in original music still being created should definitely be restored.

Damn, thats a fine ass review if we do say so ourselves.

for MP3's and such, check out the myspace page (www.myspace.com/nsdwhoa) or hardcoremp3 (hxcmp3.com/nsdwhoa).

we recently realized that the title, and the cover are might seem a little insensitive right now. but honestly, the record and the art were done last fall. wayyyy before the hurricane.
the website is under major construction. it will be back up soon.
we call ourselves NSDWHOA because thats the name of our band. we used to be called neversaydie, now we're called nsdwhoa. sorry if you're not into it, we are.
so yeah, come listen to the songs. tell us what you think.
new jams will be up soon.

    Listen on their Myspace.

No way, Welcome the Plague Year DOESN'T remind of Circle Takes the Square ... at all. Cuz I dislike CTTS and love WTPY. I hate those vocals dammit. But the soundscape interludes do sound similar...

Oh and this website won't work. Too bad cuz i wanna hear these fellas.

I'm really starting to hate band that use the totally unoriginal idea of titleing a song in the form of a complete sentence or something overly long and rediculous.

With bands like this, the subtle metaphor has died.

This album should've been titled "The goonies"

Now now Brian, the blue link entitled "official website" is confusing. You dont specify WHOSE official website it is! It could be anyones! I can definetly see why no one would click on that link if they wanted to look into the band.

    Yup.

    inagreendase (October 15, 2005)

    website or mp3 please.

I give up on our users. I just give up.

i am from lorain ohio (their hometown) and know a couple of the guys personally. they are some of the funnest and nicest guys i know of. also so intense live, amazing

for the person asking for an mp3 or website its www.myspace.com/nsdwhoa or www.nsdwhoa.com. go to myspace because their actuall site is down right now because its being redone.

and also, the album was out before hurricane katrinam it was released back in spring so thats just irony right there.

“If This is a Revolution We Have to Offend Somebody Damnit"

The album title and cover art might do the job in the light of certain recent events.

well, shit, if there's tits in top hats it has to be a good album, cgi certainly denotes originality!

I sort of want to like this band, but they keep calling themselves "NSDWHOA" or "the whoa".
