| Coheed and Cambria / the Blood Brotherslive in Clifton Park2005 live show Review by: TrailerParkJesus See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on November 25th 2005
The doors opened a little earlier than 7, the time on the bill. By 7:11, mewithoutYou was on the stage already, starting off the show with a nice surprise. As they took the stage, dressed in their winter coats and hats, the anticipation grew and the crowd started cheering. They opened with "Paper-Hanger" and a lot of energy. Singer Aaron Weiss swayed rhythmically and awkwardly to his singing, which seems more like very emotional poetry. After the first song was done, the words 'Out of his mind' were the first to pop into my head watching Aaron. They played "Torches Together" next, with Aaron ripping off the jacket and hat in the middle of the song, screaming "Torches together!" With each song, the crowd grew in responsiveness, accepting mewithoutYou as a great live act. They added to the show by playing various instruments such as a pot ("Tie Me Up! Untie Me!"), an accordion ("Son of a Widow") and maracas ("Four Word Letter, Pt. Two"). Drummer Rickie Mazzotta played "My Exit, Unfair" with his head inside his button-down shirt the whole time. Their music was very trippy, emotional and ambient. If you enjoy mewithoutYou on CD, they’re just as good, if not better, live.

Coheed and Cambria are FUCKING AMAZING Dredg should have had a longer set. They were far and away the reason I went to this show. None of the other bands matched the quality of their performance. A for the blood brothers, they are decent. In spite of the fact I think they are decent they were one of the funnest bands to rock out to. The pit was just taking the energy from the stage and using it to keep the pit going. Coheed puts on a good show. This was an odd mix of bands. Sounds like a super annoying show. Dudes screaming like girls and dudes playing proggy rock and singing like girls. Wow. "The Blood Brothers (Amazing) have their own unique style, and as said by Green Vandal there, they are one of the only hardcore bands who can still put a frightening touch to hardcore music. That being said, Coheed And Cambria are pretty good too, although sadly i doubt they'll ever put out another solid realease like "The Second Stage Turbine Blade". Here's to Hope" The Blood Brothers (Amazing) have their own unique style, and as said by Green Vandal there, they are one of the only hardcore bands who can still put a frightening touch to hardcore music. That being said, Coheed And Cambria are pretty good too, although sadly i doubt they'll ever put out another solid realease like "The Second Stage Turbine Blade". Here's to Hope I think the bloods biggest influences are from Antioch Arrow and other gravity records bands. The INFLUENCE is there, but they are definetly their own deal completely. No other bands scares people who like "hardcore" as much and that says something really good about them. Oh, and their music is ingenious. The Blood Brothers are from any trend band. Yeah, some scene kids Love em' but that does not mean they started just to impress that small area of human population. And agreed, there is no band that anyone could blame the Bros. for ripping off. you cpuld make a case that the blood brothers are stealing from Drive Like Jehu MeWithoutYou DO NOT suck live. I saw them with Brazil who were incredible. i went to the toronto show.....paid my 30 bucks....watched the BloodBrothers got blown away and left cause the rest of the bands there were SHIT .... score is for Dredg you cpuld make a case that the blood brothers are stealing from Drive Like Jehu dredg is better than all the other bands on this bill combined I love that whenever somebody is shitting on The Blood Brothers, especially calling them trend riders and what not, and you ask that person who the copied, all you get is a blank stare and something to the affect of "uh.. you know who im fuckin talkin about dont be stupid.'' I'm pretty sure Coheed is one of the most amazing bands of this time. fuck the gay brothers. even the fans dont know how many records they put out. hahahahah fuck coheed and cambria. I saw this tour in Phoenix AZ and was mightily impressed by all bands. Mewithoutyous singer is pretty damn crazy and the blood brothers, while not as good as every other time I saw them, rocked the fuck out. The C&C audience of course didnt like them (big surprise). How can you say the blood brothers are a trend when they basicaly brought the trend into everyones attention? They have been doing this schtick for ever and are far better at it then any of their contemporaries. I can't understand why Blood Brothers would tour with shit bands. That just means their fans have to pay $25 to see one good band. "ever since the days of the bloody shit gay bros on hopscotch records i thought to myself...when will that silly gay dude get aids and die. hahahahahaha. they are nothing but trend" coheed played 3 songs off their first full length when i saw them last month, and they sounded really good. their encore did last about a half hour too long though Oh, by the way, I went to the Jacksonville stop and I can assure you all that the C&C setlist was much better than is represented here. "Thats a pretty terrible Coheed and Cambria set. Do they play any songs off their first full length anymore?" These bands are both overrated rubbish.... This score is for people judging a setlist that is clearly marked "incomplete". And This score is for C&C set list. They could have picked much better songs, as for "Welcome Home" and "Favor House Atlantic"" were probably the only amazing songs C&C picked. My guess is that, Yeah probably Coheed and The Blood Bros. Were having an offnight. Both bands are original and have some amazing music, but one thing is for sure Coheed will never out do The Blood Brothers. Sorry to dissapoint you. Blood Brothers is the only band on that tour I would actually want to see. Coheed's first CD was good, but I can't stand at all their last two albums. score is for clifton park, and northern lights. worst club ever. score is for both bands. please share. wow, anonymous, you obviously have no concept of life. ever since the days of the bloody shit gay bros on hopscotch records i thought to myself...when will that silly gay dude get aids and die. hahahahahaha. they are nothing but trend right down to the tight girl pants and aids infested cum stained faces! shit, maybe he can sleep with dave from afi, and kill him also, too bad it takes so long to set in. it's probably the point for the blood brothers to get your ears ringing so you don't hear the shit-fest that is coheed and cambria hahahaha that coheed setlist is fucking pathetic Hahahahahaha. leave it to fans of coheed (a band that doesn't deserve fans) to boo a great band like the blood brothers. score is for coheed and cambria Thats a pretty terrible Coheed and Cambria set. Do they play any songs off their first full length anymore? |
