It's always a bit up in the air when former members of hardcore bands start new projects. Could be a great new hardcore band, or it could sound absolutely nothing like the bands who proceeded it. Mark Renee Heartfelt into the latter of those categories.

Absolute fucking amazing album/band. This album and their EP are on constant rotation in my CD player. Good call, Anchors! "Sounds like these ex-hardcore yaps have been listening to a lot of "Diary" and "Slip" lately." The singer palyed guitar and drums at different times in CMO. The drummer was in AN for over a year and recorded demos for their 2nd lp. The singer palyed guitar and drums at different times in CMO. I was thinkng of writing a review for this, probably would have given it a similar score. I just got into this band (by way of AN/GUTG, Trial By Fire, Cloak/Dagger)...and though definitely not what I was expecting, it's really good. so if a ghost is a dead person, would killing the ghost bring someone back to life?? The drummer filled in for AN/GUTG for a couple tours, I don't think he was ever officially in the band, he was in Time Flies and Count Me Out. The current bassist for Renee Heartfelt was in Trial By Fire. Sounds like these ex-hardcore yaps have been listening to a lot of "Diary" and "Slip" lately. I forgot about these guys. I caught one of their very first shows, maybe a year and a half ago, not knowing who they were. Someone told me they were ex-Count Me Out, and I didn't believe it until I saw them packing stuff up in boxes marked CMO. I was looking forward to this based on the pedigree and could not get into it at all, same with the EP. Death of the Ghost indeed... |
