The Mercury SwitchTime to Shine (2005)Indianola Records Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: Anchors (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on December 20th 2005
I was all ready to peg this album as one of the year’s most token metalcore releases, and then I heard the track “Struck by Lightning” and I had to rethink my approach a little bit. But then, I listened to the rest of this album, and was essentially back to square one. So just where does square one place Mercury Switch? Even now, that’s a bit cloudy.

I personally think that the "identity crisis" is something that's missing in metalcore cd's. These guys can play every single style of aggressive music with precision. I've had the pleasure with playing with these guys for three weeks on tour and these guys TEAR it up and have one of the best guitar players I've ever seen. Attention reviewers: Blast beats aren't the fast parts of metalcore songs... It's the grindcore drumming style of the late 80's/early 90's. For a minute I thought this was a grind album. | Features
