| The Fall of Troy / the Blackout Pactlive in Covington2006 live show Review by: BJR See others by this writer The Band that Stole the Show (link) Only registered users can post comments Published on February 21st 2006
I would like to begin this review by saying two things: One, that this review is for a show headlined by the Fall of Troy (which, in my opinion, played a musically AMAZING set) but this review will only mention them briefly (I came for Blackout Pact and Protest the Hero) because I know next to nothing about them, and two, that there is one decent small rock club in Covington (The Mad Hatter, which coincidently is where this show took place) which serves as a venue for Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area dates.

i see you post anonymously...have you written reviews of live shows...The live reviews have helped me to choose what bands I would rather see live at any given time... these reviews are pointless without pictures..seriously..why do you even have these? retarded to say the least. Go hang a salami I'm a lasagna hog is longer Sea Atlantis.... lawl Protest the hero? intense? fast? OK! Don't flatter yourself about little kids not knowing who Tom Waits is. Go on any college campus, and he's the hippest thing since ever. The Fall Of Troy have a song titled "Tom Waits"...I think they know who he is. dude below. i love tom waits, but for the most part is song titles are in conjunction with the subject of the song. at least on the albums i own. any band with the long, clever song title just wishes they were tom waits (if these little kids even know who that is). that dude has been doing the shit since before all these bands' members were even born. are you sure the title of the fall of troy song isn't "amanap lanac a nalp a nam a"? because if it's "the" instead of "a" it's no longer a palindrome and therefore loses all of its appeal. i think it's actually a clever title, since it's known as the longest palindrome or whatever, but if you keep the spaces it's just jibberish. whatever. i like it. i also like doppelganger A LOT. i know i've already said this, but i'm pretty sure TBOP will be one of those 'org favorites (TLA, loved ones, D4, HWM etc.) as long as they don't sign to a major or start wearing makeup. "that fall of troy song title is the stupidest thing i've ever heard" that fall of troy song title is the stupidest thing i've ever heard ive heard that latterman is, and isnt playing the show in columbus. i really hope they are though. im def inetely psyched to see blackout pact though. id've been at this if i was in town The Blackout Pact is one of the best acts running right now. The naysayers are 'tards. I love the Mad Hatter. I saw AM! there and was on stage half the set. It blew my mind. Latterman is playing the Bernie's show? I just picked up Hello Sailor and I'm really liking it too. i'm still waiting for the blackout pact to come to the pacific northwest. hello, sailor was one of my top discs of '05. it's just great drinking music. |
