For many of you, Yellowcard are nothing more than a horribly boring pop-punk band who have a violinist to make them seem a lot more original than they actually are. Personally, I think this is a little unfair. Their last full-length, Ocean Avenue, had some damn catchy moments on it, most seemingly created around the violin. I found it quite refreshing, although the album as a whole didn't really strike a chord with me. It got filed under my "only go nuts to if drunk in a nightclub and having a smily happy time already" section. In my head. Ahem.

Todos vcs que não gostam de Yellow Card vão se fuder!!!! ahahahahaha É isso mesmo!!! vão a merda!! It's a little rough to me still and I'm not really comfortable with the record, but it was a good achievement for this band and probably their most lasting record people just waste their time writing about something they dont like... Fuck the Dixie Chicks mike is a dick fuck who has sex with scott burns they do it everynight a mike is a dick fuck who has sex with scott burns they do it everynight a mike is a dick fuck who has sex with scott burns they do it everynight a this band is so crap and amee loves mike but this album is crap YELLOWCARD IS THE BEST!!! and i personally think you should get a life and eat a hamburger u anorexic fuckers you all should get over yourselfs if u dont like the band dont writre a fuckin comment u dumbass fuck heads fuck u all i love yellowcard!! GO YELLOWCARD i like yellowcard coz i recently moved away from the beach and yellowcard reminds me on the ocean It seems that there is only frustrated peoples here. If you don't like an album just don't talk about it and stop yell that is a crap. You are just loosing your time. Get a life... just listened to reclamation again and i stand by my statements. "to the douche talking shit about bigwigs new album: i cant get into anyband that is in a buttwiper , crapo-cola or any other product advertisement. The lead singer has a bad problem with male prostitution and needs some sort of support for his habit, therefore he is charging enough for a lapdance for each album. 22 dollars?! no cd is worth that much NEW. 22 dollars?! no cd is worth that much NEW. This was selling for $21.99 at Strawberries. That place is over-priced anyways, but come on. This abum is NO WHERE near that price. Ryan from Staring Back is playing guitar in Yellowcard. He was great in Staring Back, like to see him incorporate some of that guitar playing. Bass player used to be in Inspection 12, I think that's where a lot of the new sound came from. ahhh, but the review that was deleted after an hour was an excellent review of a very good cd. yet look what happened. politics, man. it's all fucking politics. brian is corrupt. crappy review, but a crappy cd... has nothing to do with how popular they are or that they're on mtv, its just a bad cd. Okay, just for the record, the Duff review WAS posted. It was on the site for approximately an hour and then deleted. I think their new bassist is a big influence in their new songs. I will be perfectly honest, this is the only Yellowcard album that I like. my firend does promotions for tower and he had this piece of shit laying crushed on the floor of his car and i opened up the booklet and BEHOLD!!! Abercrombie and Fitch now dress yellowcard, although fishnet shirts seems more village people to me but whatever ive got a sure shot way to work this out! To put it straight, this album/band sucks major arse! Sounds like a tryhard Oasis band......Is it me or is the distortion on this album, the heaviest distortion you've ever heard? "Best album of the year. There's no faulting any part of this entire release. Musically equal to the Beatles in their prime. Simply put, if you don't like Yellowcard, you have shitty taste in music and aren't a punk." to the douche talking shit about bigwigs new album: "Best album of the year. There's no faulting any part of this entire release. Musically equal to the Beatles in their prime. Simply put, if you don't like Yellowcard, you have shitty taste in music and aren't a punk." The hardcore band RedCard, kicks Yellowcard's ass! I saw these guys back in November, I really liked One For The Kids and parts of Ocean Avenuw were tolerable. They came out and were like "we are playing old stuff for all our dedicated fans," so naturally, i was stoked. However, they played only stuff off of Ocean Avenue. And plus all these douche bag Frat boys keep yelling somehting about Texas Fight and the fucking astros. Horrible, horrible show. I'll admit, I liked their last two albums. Whatever. dude. fuck this. one hit wonder... The guy below me is the biggest jackass on earth. "As good as the Beatles in their prime"BWAHAHAHAHAH. Best album of the year. There's no faulting any part of this entire release. Musically equal to the Beatles in their prime. Simply put, if you don't like Yellowcard, you have shitty taste in music and aren't a punk. someone who posts as anonymous is mad because their review(which they probably submitted this week) didnt get posted. hey blackrosesneverdies (nice conjugation there by the way) "Typical. listen u little asshole i think that u r so wrong cause yellowcard is not a bad punk band with a violinistt and the violinist makes the band better than most bands u little dimp shit actually i submitted it 3 weeks ago. this band sucks harder then that tube they put in in your mouth at the dentist to clear out all your saliva and spit and blood someone who posts as anonymous is mad because their review(which they probably submitted this week) didnt get posted. Huh? Typical. Ocean Avenue was an outstanding album... call it a guilty pleasure if you will.. but it was catchy as fuck and i loved it. I am/was a Yellowcard fan. I thought Ocean Avenue did exactly what it wanted to do and it was exactly what the band wanted it to be. Aww thanks guys especially almostpunkenough. You always make me warm and cosy. Yellowcard - Lights and Sounds eh, i've read worse lyrics. i'd rather read a pretty mediocre anti-war song than a punk as fuck oi oi oi fuck the government type song. Oh man, this song is so damn POWERFUL! Ok.. first of all, THIS IS NOT A PUNK RECORD. Get out of your mind before giving it a listen. i get that time out message in the reviews comments all the time. i have no idea what causes it, and it never happens on the news boards. What the fuck, this stupid thing keeps telling me it timed out. I'm glad it's not a carbon copy of "Ocean Avenue," but this feels like they should have spent a little more time on it somehow (I know, it's been two and a half years). Too many of the songs end up falling flat - tracks 8 through 12 aren't all that memorable, and "Sure Thing Falling" and the title track don't live up to their potential. The "How I Go" duet worked better than I expected when I first heard about it, and "Holly Wood Died" and "Rough Landing, Holly" are sweet, but a 14-track CD needs to be tighter - there's too much filler in the songs. "Paul would rather listen to Yellowcard than Bigwig. low blow dude.. ripping LTJ in a fucking yellowcard review.. Paul would rather listen to Yellowcard than Bigwig. I actually think this is a logical progression for them and an improvement over ocean ave. it might not be as overtly catchy but it still is, just more subte. 'rough landing holly', 'holly wood died', 'sure thing falling' and 'waiting game' are all outstanding songs. the only song I dont like is 'how i go'...big fish story put to alt country crap isnt good. the rest of the album is great. easily my favorite album of the year, although its only competition so far is the loved ones. I didn't think the review was as bad as some of the people are saying. It's not Pitchfork material (but that may be for the lack of literary reffrences and the pseudointelectual bullshit) but it's not the worst I've seen on here (check my Cliftons review). Good review. This is an album that I've seen alot of people praising, and one that I know I wouldn't like, as well as most people on this site wouldn't like. It's nice to have a review thats fair to the band, and doesn't just insult them, but still gives the record the kind of mark it deserves. Once I got past the horrific grammar in this review I realized something, I didn't learn a thing about this record. I'm sure it's mediocre, but I only learned about how bored/pretentious the reviewer is/was. i think giving anything by this band two stars is being very generous i liked that review. especielly the part about being happy the song is over and then finding out the next song still has 4 minutes left to go. i've listened to cds like that (ie: Sunny Day Real Estate's Diary). they fucking suck. my old band played with these guys years ago, before they were mastubation fodder for 14 year olds, and after they played, the whole band EXCEPT for the lead singer (with the lazy eye) hung out and drank with us... while the singer guy stayed by himself in the van talking on the phone. What the fuck this band even getting a review for. They are the worst thing since Blink 182. I mean come on. Who really likes this band over the age of 13. I your llike i do then you should really reexamine your life and jump off of a building. CRAP. Thats all this shit is. you need to review one of those "noisecore" bands all the "underground" kids like. yea, i'll admit i liked "Anthem" a lot too. i liked the review I am a big yellowcard fan and found this album to be a extreme disappointment. The songs had nothing appealing from what One for the Kids or Ocean Avenue had. There was nothing catchy, nothing to grab your attention..the only thing you caught was 60 minutes of time that you wish would speed up... awful in almost every way. I thought Anthem was a great record So what bands are like this only better? yeah, didn't really like this one. A dissapointment. Is it wrong that I wanted to run out of the South Street Diner and slash their tires when the tour bus drove by a while back? This album cover is actually way more like an Against Me! shirt than their album cover: Jurassic Park was on tonight lights and sounds, palm trees and powerlines, ocean ave, Page Avenue, you throw simple plan in their and its like jurassic park for assholes. You can't control shitty mudic, what starts as a guilty pleasure soon breeds on its own. I saw this band open for lagwagon over 3 years ago when they were nobodies. someone in the crowd yelled to the violinist "my daughter plays the violin" and "Two Weeks from Twenty" is by far the worst song I have ever heard (and it features a character from American Idiot!) This may not be the best review in the world, but it accomplishes its task and gets to the point: Yellowcard aim for greatness and fall on their faces. It's all over the place and reads like a 12 year old's diary. I know what I was trying to say. I remember drawing a blank when I was writing it and eventually ending up with a few paragraphs of waffle. Ah who gives a shit. My reviews are never good I don't know why I should really care if a couple of people throw a wobbler over this one. Time for breakfast i didn't think the review was that bad. there's a couple parts that are kind of hard to read, but i'd rather read this than ever listen to the record. Ha, I thought this review spoke a lot of truth...it seems like the street teamers have come here defending the band! You know what, I might just stop reviewing. This seemed OK as I was typing it straight out but now I've read it back... yeah it's pretty shit. Kinda embarrassing really i mean really. why even bother putting this on? Anyone who says "seshes" when they mean "sessions" probably deserves a swift kick straight to the mouth. Fucking horrible review. This review made me cringe. Several times. and i'm sure yellowcard saw the art to SFAFC well before this was decided upon, which was aa weak decision by them bad review. this band isn't that bad Bad, bad review. i saw the cover and thought immediately of against me!, and i'm sure yellowcard saw the art to SFAFC well before this was decided upon, which was aa weak decision by them. there's plenty of ways you can put palm trees on a cover dudes. why is this review picked over all of mine? |
