In the 12 years this band has existed so far, they have put out some of the most amazing albums I've ever heard. namely s/t, punkrockacademyfightsong, and this record all remain my favorites....and this still remains one of the biggest selling records on epitaph...(although I think its out of print now).

"The last brigade" just knocked me flat on my ass...actually the only word I said through the entire 40 minutes was "whoa". I heard the other songs like "break the walls", "at home in the wasteland", and "air conditioner" to name a few and I was hooked.

It's not your typical early 90's epitaph sound; it incorporates some of the characteristics of the "california" sound epitomized by most other bands on the label, but it lacked speed. The slower pace had become a thing I appreciated about DBL.

The lyrics are what I like most...such a wide range: politics, love, anger, Its all there...these are lyrics that are not just true to the band, but were meant to be felt and understood by others as well. And have come to be a thing they have been recoginized and praised for.

well, its One hell of a band, and one hell of a record...Love em or hate em...theyre here to stay and even though theyve kinda dropped from sight the past few years They will be rocking your ass soon.

coldjuly: Maybe he meant that it didn't make a lot of sense that it would be out of print if it was such a good seller. Shouldn't take things so personally.

never liked this band that much. they always have a few good songs ('giving it all away' and questionmarks and periods' are both awesome), but most of their albums are disapointing. not enough of the good songs. oh well, they have been doing it for a long time, so they're cool i guess. great name too.- fathead

even though smash sold over 4 million and out come the wolves sold nearly a million. This looks tiny with its near 200,000 mark.

Ok you dumb shit...the record went out of print in 2000. The album had sold 127,000 copies just by 1994...pretty damn impressive for the pre-"smash" status of the time. and as of 2000...it had sold an even more impressive 181,000 worldwide. so making it one of the biggest sellers on epitaph...right up there with "smash" "and out come the wolves" "punk in drublic" "full circle" and "no control".theres your explanation even though a comment like that dosent deserve one...figured I would clear that up.

"this still remains one of the biggest selling records on epitaph...(although I think its out of print now)."

That makes a lotta fuckin sense.

Definitely a killer album. Although slower it has so much more power/energy than the typical fast punk albums out there. DBL is always the best thing to put on when you aren't sure what you want to listen to.
There is not a single weak song on this one, and I would recommend it to anyone that knows and can appreciate what GOOD music is all about!
