After listening to the sampler that came with the February/March issue of AMP, I’m now going to have to buy it when ever it’s released. The sampler introduced me to four outstanding bands: No Trigger, the Loved Ones, Skylines, and Flee the Seen. I didn’t exactly expect much from this band, especially after I saw their press photo, but damn this was a surprise.

I'm also friends with these guys, and I'm probably just being biased, but I love the album. Full on ten, these guys (and gal) started in my area, I know them personally, I caught them at a band practice and I was expecting nothing less than an outstanding record. I couldn't be happier for the four of them. The music they make is a great thing for the scene, for Hardcore Kids, and Indie Kids. I can't wait to hear the next CD I'm already, too anxious. "Kim Anderson is easily the best female vocalist in the scene right now." I know will, i was just fucking around, some people see red whenever they hear that term so i just thought i'd throw it out and see how you reacted. Actually, I'm a democratic socialist with a few ideas taken from the communal anarchist book. I tihink so. Will, you're such a "south park republican". I agree 100% with the last post. Non-hypocritical Christianity and punk ethics coincide. Think about it. Human equality fighting against racism, classism, sexism, etc. (some will argue against the sexism part, but look at when the Bible was written. God is sexless, but He/She wants you to know Him/Her personally. That's part of the reason for personifying. Anyways, women weren’t looked upon with high esteem, so it would’ve been hard to refer to God as She.) Jesus went against the political and religious leaders. He went amongst the “sinners,” the sick, and the poor. It’s like that quote from Ghandi that I think goes “I like your Christ. I do no like your Christians.” I don’t like hypocritical Christians either, but I do like the ones who love and do not judge, believe it or not, there are some out there without all this crazy aborted baby pictures and Bush loving. Believe what you want to believe (I don’t like when people force their beliefs on people either), but let me believe what I believe. You also have Calico System, but there a pretty good band. I think they are from Kanas City and they need to stay away from St. Louis. We already have enough crap with So They Say and Story of the Year. new slogan for facedown: "Jesus and Punk: The Best Combonation Since Chocolate and Human Feces!" Pretty good review crazytoledo, you keep getting better and better and I give you props for keeping it up. I'll be sure to check this out. Posted by etwiels88 on 2006-03-17 14:59:04 Hahaha, toledo's reviews are like the exact opposite of every other reviewer shouldn't their name be Flee the Scene? Flee the Seen doesn't make sense. Crazytoledo, you're now officially the 2005/06 version of what everyone thought wuss emo rock stood for (me myself, i actually liked the dude, he just like poppunk, whats wrong with that?). Oh, the couple songs I've heard of this are alright. I appreaciate Facedown's doing something different this time around. "a faceless, crappy AND christian band at that. a faceless, crappy AND christian band at that. Facedown had Comeback Kid. You've got to be kidding. |
