| Cursive / Make Believe / Little Brazillive in Urbana2006 live show Review by: Steveman See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on July 11th 2006
It is impossible for me to describe just how incredible this show was to anyone who does not love Cursive or was not at the show itself, but I have seen over 200 bands live and Cursive, July 5th, was the best I have ever witnessed.

"i just got home from seeing this show in norfolk, and jesus christ, this review is dead on. i've seen a lot of bands live, but NEVER have i heard a band sound as tight live as cursive did. the horns added new things to even the older songs, and tim sounded fucking fantastic. this was definetley one of the top 5 best shows i've ever been to ... if you're lucky enough for it to come to your area, please go. you'll thank me later." Doesn't Capn Jazz belong in there too? friends for life.....we love you joan of arc. we love you . thanks guys!!!! we love you so, so much. you are the earth to us. thank you joan of arc, thank you! I really tried to like Cursive but i can't, they suck too much. Name me one song made by any of the kinsella bros that it wouldn't be ridiculous to circle-pit to. I just back from the show tonight and it was pretty awesome; however, the club was really hot to the point where the mirrors were steaming up. make believe is the only real punk band on this lame-o site. long live mother fucking make believe. long live mother fucking joan of arc. and lastly.....long live tim kinselles(the last of the real independently thinking punk rockers! fuck any nay sayers....like you! So I live like a couple blocks from this show and couldn't go. Fuuuuck. the new album is their best all around one, followed by domestica at a very close second. i can't wait to see them live. i just got home from seeing this show in norfolk, and jesus christ, this review is dead on. i've seen a lot of bands live, but NEVER have i heard a band sound as tight live as cursive did. the horns added new things to even the older songs, and tim sounded fucking fantastic. this was definetley one of the top 5 best shows i've ever been to ... if you're lucky enough for it to come to your area, please go. you'll thank me later. Cursive is playing near me really soon, and I'm having trouble deciding if I want to go. I've been overwhelmingly dissapointed with the new album. This review might have tipped me the other way, though. I saw Make Believe open for the Promise Ring in the fall and it was one of the worst live experiences of my life. score is for that Kinsella idiot. "Awesome show, agreed. There is a motherfucking cello on this motherfucking plane. I might be going to see this tonight, but i really want them to play either "The Casualty" or "Shallow Means, Deep Ends". That would make this setlist amazing. to me, cursive is one of those bands that i cant really get into with albums, but live... wow. im sad i missed this show, hopefully itll be coming out west Awesome show, agreed. i'm sorry, but make believe sucks so freaking badly I might see them this coming week, but im really going to see lasalle open, sorry seen cursive plenty of times though, I might stick around. Haven't seen this band in years... Nationwide tour! Nationwide tour! I swear, I'll get to see the magic that is Cursive live someday. kingofsuck, I know you will, too. It will be a magical show at Bernie's or something. I had a ticket for the Cleveland show, but my fucking car broke down and I didn't make it. Second time in the last year I've gotten fucked out of catching them live. cursives use of horns on this album is fucking great Man, I was listening to the promo of "Happy Hollow" over the weekend and kept thinking "Why didn't I noticed they were playing at the Mercury Lounge"?? Cursive at the Lounge would've been the shit. Goddamn, I really wish I'd gone tonight. |
