Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (Deluxe)

I know a bit about metal. When I was a little guy, my buddy and I used to stand on top of boxes and wail air guitar to Kirk Hammet like we were on stage or something. In my time I’ve joined a few bands, I’ve been to a few shows, and listened to plenty of albums. Metal will always be a favorite genre of mine. From the greats like Zeppelin, Sabbath, Metallica...to the newer guys who are making less of a landmark like Akimbo, Sleep, Lords. It’s very unfortunate those latter bands are getting less attention, but I believe they're doing it to keep metal alive, not to make a million bucks. And with that, I give you Saviours.

Crucifire is a bit of every kind of metal force-fed to a very large cow, said cow being sacrificed with the wailing axe of Saviours, and with what the gods left to remain, Saviours ate raw. With elements of sludge, thrash, speed, and heavy metal, these guys really got it down. I mean, this is pure metal. I can describe in detail that they have spot harmonies, sporadic time signatures, galloping riffs, pounding drums and bass, and so on.

Or you can take my word for it; if you’re a fan of metal, then you’ll love what Crucifire has to offer. You’ll turn it up, you’ll wave it at shows, and you’ll swear there is nothing better.

There are so many grammatical errors and spelling mistakes in this thread. A big thanks to the few intelligent metal fans on here, though.

We ALL know the only ex-yaphet kotto band you should listen to Look Back and Laugh....duh.

    Dudes, c'mon, stop this fighting:

The only bands that matter are Judas Priest and Queen. If only they got Halford to place Freddie's shoes, then they could have called themselves Judas Priestess and rocked stadiums from here to Hoboken.

Breakin' the law, so don't stop me now.

    I see a song conversion.

Also, Halford is the only FAGET cool enough to front Queen.

This album rules. This and The Sword's latest are 1 and 1A this year for best metal album.

yaphet kotto didnt suck, and there not a screamo band

Posted by Anonymous on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 4:14 PM (EDT)

I agree nu school screamo sucks, but 90's styled screamo is great, their's a lot of passion there and it's not horrible nu wave metal.

    Where's the Bigwig review?

Posted by sirens on 2006-08-18 14:45:42

screamo is a great fad that kids love from 18 - 22, after that, realization sets in. Acreamo is just a whinny "artistic" way to make music and since it isnt appealing and doesnt catch on, elitists love it because no one "gets" it. Metal can be just as creative. Be open about it, Yaphet Kotto SUCKED anyways, like most screamo bands.

    My Score:

i've seen this band twice and they are amazing. I missed 'em with Akimbo because i'm not 21, boo hoo. Anyway, This band rips and this album rips. Oh, and Jesse, did you get the 'brah' thing from Dog The Bounty Hunter? because if you did that is pretty damn funny.

"This is a METAL band. Yaphet Kotto and Look Back and Laugh are not METAL bands. "

Still doesn't change the fact that they are capable of so much more.

Short because its a pretty solid metal album. Riffs, screams, satan. What more needs to be said.
