I'll get it out of the way right now: I don't know if it's a homage or a blatant rip-off, but "Change of Heart" contains the EXACT opening lick from Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."

This a strong sophomore album, but lacking for the most part in strong songwriting. Now and then, Damone really hit the nail on the head and deliver great muscle car rock. Other times, they are just simply trying too hard. I always hated reading that in reviews, but seeing the image that Damone is going for AFTER From the Attic, it's clear to the listener what sound they are going for as well.

Damone is pulling it off better than any other band out there though, I'll give them that much. Fans of pop-punk can get into this album, as well as old G'n'R, or Boston fans. Spanning such a musical spectrum is impressive, and it IS impressive when it is pulled off in cohesive songs. Tracks like "Outta My Way" however, are difficult to listen to because of the grasping hands that can't quite grab that `80s rock party status. The band being named after a character from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" begins to tell you what this band is going after.

They're on their way though. They are progressing in the way they want to, and for that they must get some respect. For a listener however, I don't like having to skip nearly every other song to enjoy the album.

    My Score:

I love this album. I'm glad somebody finally reviewed it. It's the catchiest album of the year so far.

    My Score:

hate to sound like a sexist, but the singer is really fucking attractive in my opinion. After getting over that, I lost all interest in this band. It's got the Island records budget sound for sure, sounds well produced, but yeah, generic as hell. I would give this a lower score, but I can't get her out of my head...

    My Score:

Even the bad songs are good, but in a Juliana Hatfield way, not a James Hetfield way.

This album is flat out bland and color by numbers. Fuck this album, fuck it.

I was really looking forward to this because I loved Attic, but yeah the songs just arent as good here. The guy that wrote the songs on the last album isnt in the band anymore (the girl didnt write the songs, at least I heard) so I guess that makes some sense. Still enjoyable though.

The lead singer is a wannabe Joan Jett

Their lead singer should get out of her shitty band and get into my bed.
