Here's something quite promising to check out for all you people out there who think there's need for some more hard-edged emo-(punk)rock. No wonder these 5 still very young guys originate from New Jersey. It seems like this part of the world is the breeding place for this kind of rock. the ingredients include technical guitars that gradually build up to (several) climaxes in the songs and vocals that are really of an exceptional beauty. This guy's voice is really so amazing...he manages to capture all these different emotions in high and low, sometimes very long sustained, tones. If you like those other NJ bands like Saves the Day and Midtown, I'm sure you'll be as amazed as I was when listening to this debut of a band with a certain future. I just wonder why these bands can't project their music into emotions other then to relationship issues. Not that it matters a lot, but being together with my girlfriend for over 16 years now, I could care less. Anyway, this little masterpiece will surely entertain many of you, it's really one of the best debuts I've ever heard.

lifetime was indeed the best...but you all forgot YOU AND I. thursday is the watered-down version of this amazing band. and all the ex-you and i bands like the assistant and neil perry and hot cross are amazing as well. yeah, and the june spirit are phonies.

    MICHAEL BOLTON

That is who the lead singer sounds like. Perfect 10 just for the voice, MICHAEL BOLTON.

    Album sucks ass though

This CD is really promising and I can see a good future for these guys. I'm also hearing rumors of a release on a bigger label. I can't wait to hear their new music. I have a feeling these guys will grow into such a great band. This isn't a bad debut at all. Saves The Day were made fun of for a long time before they got big, because they "ripped off Lifetime". I have a feeling the same thing will happen to these guys. There are some quite cheesy parts on the CD, but I've talked to some members, and they hate the CD. Overall, Great CD, every song is different and enjoyable.

I agree with Fathead completely. Lifetime is the best Jersey band ever.

    Stick and stones???
    say it with me...THEY LICK!!!
the souls, lifetime, bigwig, and thursday are the best jersey bands ever.

    Bouncing Souls?
Say it with me....Stick and Stones!
They came long before the Souls, and you would be surprised at how similar they sound.
Though the June Spirit is from Southern Jersey, so I guess there really is no relevance

this band rocks my jam session. They are rad guys. but the main reason for their success: the gill (inside joke).
this cd rocks the jam session.
pop punk w/ small pops of pop and hardcore and the most amazing vocals. Ian is way better than chris conley (STD), the high and low notes he hits are insane.
    - out of chris

    Say it with me!

    THE BOUNCING SOULS!

They're from NJ too (and they actually did a national tour with Lifetime way back in the day) although they've relocated to NYC.

    they suck

    Anonymous (October 1, 2001)

this record sucks, they are just another limp wristed bullshit playing band jumping on the bandwagon to become the next saves the day. Dont buy this release you will regret it.

    coldjuly (October 1, 2001)

Listen to fathead..he knows his shit, and listen to Lifetime...they fuckin rip

    Anonymous (October 1, 2001)

you forgot to mention the only band from NJ that ever mattered. LIFETIME!! can you say it with me, L-I-F-E-T-I-M-E! If it weren't for LIFETIME, there would be no saves the day, midtown, or June Spirit. by the way, that name again is LIFETIME.- fathead
