Aiden really hasn't been on MTV2, maybe Fuse, but not MTV2, which ironically airs old reality shows that originially aired on MTV. I thought MTV2 was originally supposed to be "100% music."

this album is a masterpiece, I'd liek to see you write something better seriously wiL is an inspiration if you read about him and research on his life you will find he has been through a lot to come to where he is now. He does write maturely and he puts whe he believes the listener can relate to. It might not be suicide or burning friends, but the represent feelings and what he has experienced. In my opinion lyrically he hasn't failed with providing the audience with a wonderful range of songs. I congratulate wiL and all the band memebers on producing yet another wonderful album. It was supposed to be 80k, not 180.
I'm not 100% sure about the exact number though as it was just randomly mentioned in some interview (suprisingly), but the Aiden number was ripped straight from ap.net's weekly postings.

Hell, the soundscan feature on Absolutepunk shows albums with over 700 sales that week and features Victory bands since it has had Spitalfield and Atreyu/Hawthorne Heights/etc.

The Black Maria didn't even crack it, On the Last Day sold 1,000 it's opening week, Bury Your Dead haven't fared much better and there hasn't been too much, if any success for the Forecast, the Sleeping, and the Junior Varsity.

Are you serious dude? Either that numver was from an unreliable source or you're pulling numbers out of your ass as I know first hand that their last album hasn't sold even close to 180k. Hell, there current album hasn't even hit 5 numbers yet. And Underoath is considered mega-successful, but They're Only Chasing Safety has sold 400,000. So if 180k is a huge bust, then Underoath is only a marginal success?

I really think you should check out the soundscan numbers on Absolute Punk on a continous basis and you'll realize that 90,000 albums is a lot for the indepedent scene and that Spitalfield has never, ever sold that many albums. Even if you combine all of their albums.

I'm talking about as an independent artist signed to Victory. Hawthorne Heights is a differt scenario as they've reached the radio and MTV, therefore there are higher expectations. But for smaller independent bands that don't even show up on MTV2, even 20,000 can be considered a success.

In regards to the cover. That cartoon character might be Milo. Not Descendents' Milo. There is a horror movie from 1998 called Milo. It is about a homicidal little boy in a rain-coat who terrorizes little girls. Anyway, they think that they kill him, but he comes back to haunt them when they grow up. It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I wouldn't recommend it as it wasn't even one of those flicks that's "so bad it's good". But the cartoon character looks just like the little boy in the movie.

The guy who did AFI's artwork on All Hallows. Black Sails and Art of Drowning was a man named Alan Forbes. And he is a pretty damn good artist. The Aiden cover looks almost anime inspired, I doubt he did this cover.

I like pitchfork's writing style, but they only like music based upon how "indie" it is. I do not really like indie rock. I happen to enjoy reviews that shit on bands that deserve it, not bands that are so bad that it's not worth trying. I have all of their albums, and I could probably recite the lyrics to every song on The Fedding of the 5000 by heart. I'm just enthusiastic, and angry.

Well the one girl I was dating and all of her friends were "huge" fans of Aiden and really liked everyone in the band. And there in high school.

i tried listening to their last full length and couldn't get past the fact that he managed to mention nightmares in every song. the release before that one was actually pretty decent for the style they play but they blew it when they tried getting too dark or whatever. i do like the artwork on the cover of this one but i have to say i'll be skipping listening to it

This is the only really bad album released today. The Four Letter Lie album is bad, but not as bad (the single is catchy). Endwell and Scars of Tomorrow are each generic, but will satisy fans of their genres. I couldn't really get into Moros Eros, but they're actually okay.

What I love the most about this band is that they don't wear typical goth or screamo makeup. They wear drag queen makeup. They apply it the way normal girls learn to in junior high.

Yes. Because it's crazytoledo. The guy has no problem giving bad Victory releases 4 or even 5 stars if he likes them. Say what you will about his taste, but he's probably one of the most honest reviewers on this site.

I listened to Nightmare Anatomy and thought that I had accidently downloaded a drunk Lagwagon recording. Flame on all you want, that's what I thought it sounded like. To me they sound like a bad version of Lagwagon (who I really don't care for in the first place), but they seem to think that they stand a chance at starring in the 5th (or is it 6th) Crow movie.
