Reviews

The Kings of todays Streetpunk scene are back with a new release titled "Die Hards". This is their most hardest material to date. Jorges vocals is more powerful than ever before, Jakes guitar playing has gotten so much better, and Rick the bassplayer sings some lines in a few of the songs and his vocals just stand out. There are plenty of choruses to get you singing along, but this time around the choruses sounds more gangly. The lyrics cover issues about punks, touring in Europe and going broke on tour on the track "No Turning Back", how the Punk Scene has so many stupid rules, working to help parents pay rent, there is also a song all in Spanish for all you Latino Punks, and they even have a song dedicated to Joey Ramone and the rest of The Ramones on the track "Made In N.Y.C.". This album is definatley for the Die Hard Casualties fans everywhere. This is worth your money and this album won't disappoint old and new fans. --

This album is crap. The band has gone through so many changes in their linup, and has been around for too long. After their album "Stay Out of Order" they should have just called it quits.

    My Score:

Sure they have recycled the same riffs for years and the lyrics arent spectacular, but thats not what punk rock is about. Its about busting your ass for years trying again and again to build a fan base because your married to the music and the lifestyle, which is what they have done. The Casualties have worked for nearly a decade to gain a hardcore fan base and have done so. They have also been the only American punk band to play at Holiday in the Sun. So you cant just write them off completly, as for sucking at live performances what punk bands havent been suck ass live. Anyways i had to put my two cents in since i saw them last time when they were here in London and the club was packed full, and everyone was thrashing around and moshing so cant hate on them for live prformances got one nasty pit.

    My Score:

It doesn't matter if these kids LOOK "hardcore" because your not llooking at them when you listen to this.THis band has recycled the same riff over and over for years and put as much thought into their lyrics as a six year old. They understand that if you look "punk" you'll sell the records to the kids and they continue to put little to no effort in their music cause they'll sell the albums anyway. They are trying too hard to emulate their heroes from the 80s and doing a shitty job at it too.

this is truly the worst "punk" cd i have ever had the misfortune to hear, the casualties are SO over rated. people should listen to the unseen instead they actually have something to say rather than the same two words over and over. CASUALTIES ARMY (x100)

I can't help but think that all these guys who are anonymous who are giving 1 or half a star are all actually the same person.

As for the album, it's so-so. Nothing great or really worth buying for that matter, but if I find it in the clearance bin or something I might get it.

I don't want to waste time explaining why The Casualties are just as bad as Good Charlotte or how many thousands of bands are beating the dead street-punk horse with loads more intelligence or originality than the Casualties will ever have. Go pick up the new Gc5 record. This shit is wack.

Thumbs up to the guy below me.

Every Casualties fan needs to listen to Minor Threat, Black Flag, Desendents and shut up. Those guys are real hardcore.

    Bonus points to X.

By the way, the Casualties are the worst live band I've ever seen. Absolutely awful.

    My Score:

What is this, a sad excuse for punk? Last time I checked, punk died, and hardcore was in. This transition occured in the eighties. First hardcore albums are material such as Bad Brains - Pay to Cum, Sham 69 - Borstal Breakout, Germs, X, etc... I don't quite know what to call this, perhaps, the same. Every thing sounds the same. From the first track to the last, it is all the same. When I listened to it, it all sounded the same. Notice the pattern here? These songs have two, three riffs, max. The songs have one theme, that are pulled from a pool of three. Anti-Police, hurt your self (drugs, alcohol) and hurt others. It's total crap. These guys define nothing but what is wrong with music, producing only crappy songs. I will not be over-zealous and tell you what to listen to, but I will say that The Casualties are crap. Find better bands to listen to.

I just think its funny how this has been completely out of the norm of recent albums that have been reviews on this site with perfect 10s and and 9s and you guys give bands like this a 1. They're a different style. Look at the review bar, everything is almost the same except this. It's good for what it is. And I do sport their name because the band conveys something more than music like hard work and a love for kids.
