In 2002, Atreyu released their debut full length, Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses,” hich would go on to sell well over 200,000 copies. Their followup continued their wave of popularity and eventually led to A Death-Grip on Yesterday, which debuted ninth on the Billboard 200 Charts. After releasing three successful albums for Victory Records, it was no surprise to see them make the switch over to a major label. Victory, knowing that Atreyu was one of their best-selling bands, saw the opportunity to release a ‘Best Of’ collection highlighting the days Atreyu spent on Victory. Or they basically saw this as the last opportunity to earn more money off of Atreyu, unless they decide to reissue Death-Grip, which is highly likely in these present times.

damn! i read all y'alls comments and..dude...there is some serious hate issues goin on. why do you all hate Atreyu? i dont LOVE them, but they're descent enough, and your all like "This is shit" and im like "Woah!". so seriously, whats the baggage here? Best of? Are you fucking kidding me. I hear that they are also releasing a worst of cd, which contains many more songs than the best of. I bet the cover art of that one will be more manly, maybe the teletubies. we know you do. it's ok you don't have to take it out on atreyu! 1) If any of you bitches actually bought this cd the little lamb is just a cover the actual art is fucking awesome a greatest is really not necessary they only had three albums a greatest is really not necessary they only had three albums man this band makes me laugh whats with the cover art The cover art is ridculous... but Atreyu should have done another CD instead of jumping off.... Fuck this shit. they already sell atreyu's best of in spools of 100 at staples you cant release a best of album of a band that has only released three albums "So was listening to the british radio1 punk show with Mike Davies and he had Fat Mike in with him for 2 hours. Fat Mike brought up punknews.org a few times and said he was saddened by one posters best of lists saying "wolves in.." was in his top 5 biggest dissapointments of 2006. I could check who it was but I am pretty drunk...own up? Even so representing punknews on british radio yeeeo!" Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 3:09 PM (EST) atreyu uses 3 bass drums but only has 2 feet To one of those anonymous fuckers. Darkest Hour isn' t the only good bad on Victory. I personally think it was a fantastic idea of "Victory Records" to put out a best of album for this great band. Personally, I thought the 2 or 3 three seconds at the start of each track represents the best of this band. So I hope Victory will recognise this in this release. Fucking worthless shit. blood for blood hahahaha! the only decent band on victory is darkest hour, that's it, no one else......blood for blood are u fuckin kidding me? hahahaha! Wow. I always thought 'Best Of" records were reserved for established acts that had been around 10-20 years. blood for blood was the last band in the past 6 yearsm on victory that was good...oh the strike lp and the river city rebels were also quite good i think the cover art is cute, though i would never listen to this godawful band. is the album art Victory's way of saying fuck you to Atreyu now that they are off the label? Victory Records can suck my fucking cock! "Hmmm... the last victory record I bought was Atreyu's first record. Back in 02. what a horrible band, and horrible cover art. seriously, this is THE WORST COVER ART EVER score is for the price of the theater the reviewer works at. The last thing I bought from Victory was By the Grace of God's second album... back in '97. Hmmm... the last victory record I bought was Atreyu's first record. Back in 02. I was totally addicted to their first cd. The Curse was terrible. A Deathgrip was somewhere in between those two. This is definately a desperate cash grab by Victory. Much like Atreyu leaving victory. i especially love the bonus feature where the band has a competition to see how much semen could be pumped out of each band member's stomach. What happened to the link? I wanted to see more of tony :( So was listening to the british radio1 punk show with Mike Davies and he had Fat Mike in with him for 2 hours. I could go for a sandwich, oh wait they didn't break up. I'll have some chinese instead... while "Least Worst of" was a tongue-in-cheek title for type o negative, there are plenty of bands (including this one) which definitely warrant that title. "an atreyu best of would be them re-releasing 'suicide notes...'". No way! that's the album cover art? at least they know they're appealing to the right market.....14 year olds. Yarrr!!! super pirate sammich time! don't care about the band, but that album cover made me laugh Atreyu is garbage, this is just a cash grab, scene kids are gonna buy the shit out of this, etc, etc. More like Agayu - The Breast of. This band is saggy tits, and no one likes saggy tits. yo what's with that album artwork? Who gives a fuck about this? Best of? Jesus Christ dude, theyve only had three albums. This has to be a joke on Atreyu by Victory. There is no way that is the real cover. no way. I thought this was just a blank CD. i think it makes a little more than that crazy metalcore riffing to make kerry king's brown eye go wild The collection opens up with “Lip Gloss and Black,” which may easily be the best song Atreyu has ever wrote Joke album? First: Worst Review Ever Victory can do no wrong. Best label period. You haters are just jealous. Atreyu and Victory... both only care about image and money. I woulda thought that was a match made in heaven, so its strange to see Atreyu jump ship. I saw the reviews and clicked on this one because of the cover art... I thought it was a PunkNews joke. I cannot remember the last time I saw cover art that bad. Does that little drop of blood automatically make it dark and metal? What a disgrace. you gave an atreyu record four stars back in the day. you have terrible, terrible, godawful taste in music. please, we don't need more reviews of whatever bad metalcore band you're jocking this week. Once again, crazytoledo can't help but bash a Victory Records release the day it comes out, it seems. This is quite possibly the cheesiest album art I have ever seen. I bet so many kids will love this though. holy fuck!!! was this album really required??? An Atreyu "best of" would be a reissue of Suicide Notes. only atreyu could ruin good cover art. the blood on the lambs mouth fucks the whole thing up. jeez, you asshole fuckfaces, you gotta have some blood on everything, just to make sure we know you're hardcore. fuck you guys. This collection was to complete their contract with Victory to free them up for the major. This happens alot. Nothing like a best hits collection that contains over 50% of a band's entire catalog! yes, where is this rock "However, there might be a few people living under a rock that haven’t heard of Atreyu" these guys suck more than the Indianapolis Colts are going to suck it in Super Bow 41 on Febuary 4, 2007!!! and thats a lot!!! daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bears! this is just silly. mind you i liked thier first two albums. and they are still guilty pleasures. but a best of after three albums. fuck that's weak. Wow. I always thought 'Best Of" records were reserved for established acts that had been around 10-20 years. "However, there might be a few people living under a rock that haven’t heard of Atreyu" |
