The measuring stick to which all other albums are compared. It is the punk-rock equivalent to "Rumors" and "Sgt. Pepper". There isn't a more complete, enthralling, energizing, and expressive album in existence in the punk genre. NOFX, and Fat Mike, establish themselves as intelligent beyond the more tongue-in-cheek recording of, "Ribbed" and even the stellar, "White Trash, Two Heebs, and A Bean". This is an album that can make the listener think - and that is an accomplishment itself when you consider the average listener. I can't even imagine how many punk bands were/are founded based on hearing this masterpiece...

I have to admit that I'm not really a big NOFX fan, but this album is one of the greatest if not THE GREATEST punk albums ever made!

commie1848 (September 29, 2012)

Yup, the greatest punk album of all time. Yup.

nahbro (June 5, 2012)

This album is good to jack off to or Drink beer to. Either way it's ok.

sean021122 (March 1, 2012)

Total fucking crap. Total fucking crap. yes total fucking cokc sucking crap. Overrrated, overprduced, overhyped piece of shit that further tarnished nofx's legacy and recruited all the sad lame wanna be mall poser hot topic punks as listeners. As well as all the adult oriented radio baby boomers who wanted something melodic yet "edgy". Stick with their Fucking Maximum Punk"NRoll (and all other records on mystic records)/Liberal Animation/S&M Airlines material and you won't ever need anything else by this band. Your ears will thank you!

This album pretty much turned me into a new life path. I mean I was twelve when I got it, but it was my gateway to punk. Still haven't stopped listening to it.

nedsammy (July 19, 2010)

i've had this two days, and my friends hate it, but i have immediately got into it and am quickly picking up the lyrics and deciding what my favourite songs are. and yes, Rancid's 1993 is a bit of a classic, but this is miles better. accessible, yet harsh; funny, yet thoughtful; smart, yet outrageously stupid. amazing.

MestizoDom (November 1, 2009)

rancid 93' is way better

fletcher70 (September 27, 2008)

oh its a classic alright...not so sure its better than ribbed...that is awesome

weffjebster (July 11, 2008)

Not sure why this is called their best album. But it's really good anyway.

ak3punk (April 24, 2008)

This album is a fucking classic. Definitely a must own. So many killer tunes...

Rocktopus (June 15, 2007)

Still my favorite NOFX record.

PanasonicYouth519 (April 3, 2007)

One of the greatest punk albums of all time. I have to ask what the 3 people were thinking when they gave this half a star, didn't anyone tell you that depriving yourself of oxygen too long produces bad consequences, like shitty reviews.

jt (November 15, 2006)

best NOFX album in my opinion

Disaster44 (September 25, 2006)

I love this album. My favourite album of all time with no contest.

rancidsucks (June 28, 2006)

Best NOFX album. Their only album with no filler tracks.

kahtc89 (May 21, 2006)

great, one of my favorite and the best cd I ever listen, Is the shit from linoleum to Scavenger Type.

Anonymous (April 24, 2006)

This is the foundation for about half of all modern punk. It's a masterpiece and is my favorite NOFX album. That said, it's a wee bit over rated. It's not "the best punk album of all time" or anything like that. Though it might make top 10...maybe...

Anonymous (December 25, 2005)

The BEST NoFx album. Ever.

eno (December 13, 2005)

Anonymous (May 6, 2004)

without a doubt nofx's best albumn. From the sounds of el hefe singing at the begging of linoleum to the hidden tracks of fat mike trying to hit the "How" in perfect government. It's a brilliant show of musicianship. I know every lyric, every note, every bass tab, to the whole cd. It is truely a punk masterpiece. Thanks nofx.

Punk in drublic fantastico!! se contenesse anche bob sarebbe stato il massimo! la mia canzone preferita the brews.. Quando la ascolto quasi mi emoziono e nn riesco a fare a meno di cantare!!! nofx siete i migliori!!

Anonymous (November 5, 2003)

leave nofx alone...leave them, cause this album is already one of those we call "Oh, yeah I love it"...i dunno, what i want to say so see the score...

Anonymous (September 14, 2003)

In Punk In Drublic c' rabbia (Lory Meyers), ribellione contro i pregiudizi (Don't Call Me White) e contro il governo U.S.A. (A Perfect Government). La batteria pi veloce del mondo -quella di Erik Sandin- travolgente in Punk Guy, mentre l'assolo di chitarra di Eric Melvin in The Happy Guy lascia senza fiato. Da sbellicarsi dalle risate la Ghost Track. Bravi NOFX!!

Anonymous (June 18, 2003)

This really is a perfect CD Every song is good. All the tracks fit in very well together and go along perfect and just to make this CD even more unique it has lyrical and musical diversity.

Anonymous (May 8, 2003)

Perfect Goverment IS A COVER, the song wasnt written by NOFX - This album is great, one of my first along with Bad Religions Starnger than Fiction

Anonymous (May 2, 2003)

I put only 9 because perfection doesn't exists , but Punk in Drublic ( or Drunk in Public , nice pun ) is really fuckin close to it . From Linoleum to Scavenger Type , you just don't have any resting time ,m excepted for the funniest song of the masterpiece : My Heart Is Yearning . This album just kicks ass , i read that someone said that Rancid paved the way for NOFX , but this guy should know that NOFX are REALLY older than Rancid ( read the booklet of Byosplit III ) , it's not I don't like Rancid , but NOFX has just this songwriting that just makes each song like a rollercoaster to me , especially The Quass and Jeff wears Birckenstocks . NOFX has the cleverness , intensity , speed and talent to beat any other punk band , if you don't believe me , go to a NOFX gig , and fasten your seat belt....

Anonymous (April 29, 2003)

listen with max volume!!

Anonymous (April 4, 2003)

This album really lets you understand just how talented these guys are. The lyrics are amazing. "Prfect Government" is by far one of the best descriptions of the government these days. "HOW DiD THE CaT GET SO FaT..."

"There isn't a more complete, enthralling, energizing, and expressive album in existence in the punk genre."

Great album, but you must not listen to very much punk... I can list about a hundred greater albums.

Anonymous (February 24, 2003)

I admit this album is quite good, but whatever shithead wrote this album makes rancid look like junk is the biggest moron i've ever heard. Rancid paved the way for some of these punks in today's music. Not saying nofx didn't do this on their own though. They are truly amazing
-shameless amos

dropkick (February 20, 2003)

Anonymous (February 20, 2003)

Best albym nof. X. Forevor

Anonymous (February 7, 2003)

i loved this album but i dont think its the best not as good as white trash but still absolutely fantastic especially linoleum
nofx are punk punk to the book punk to the bone
anyone who says that punk is dead just has to listen to this album, or so long, or white trash, or the decline and wise up.
cos as long as theres a nofx, punk will never die.
i hate mtv

M4CH1N3 (December 3, 2002)

A pure classic. Voted best punk record of all times, you HAVE to own this, even if it's just to realize how much those guys have influenced almost every band you listen to.

Anonymous (June 8, 2002)

Well, what can i say.... Hmmmm... This album is a true masterpiece, from the beginning to the end it rules the airwaves,"linoleum",which is the best intro ever,it has awesome lyrics which i can defnitely relate to... Leave it alone its just an amazing song, and don't call me white is pretty educational,as well as prefect government,if you're getting into nofx, you definetely should buy this baby,it will change your life for eva!
see ya in the pit

Anonymous (April 29, 2002)

one of the first punk records i bought and still one of my favorites. not only do i get all nostalgic when i listen to it nowadays but i still find it totally fun and energizing. every punk needs this album.

Kurtpunkskacheese (February 2, 2002)

This is a AWSOME Nofx album... but all there albums are awsome. I dont thin that this is the greatest record of all time becuse some songs arnt that great... well sure you have the classics but its not a album that i whould want to by 4 copys and a tape version, and a sony mini disk version, and a 8 track verison. id just by the cd. Do they even make tapes anymore?

waste_elite (December 20, 2001)

not much to say about this album other than it is one of those punk records everyone should have. classic.

Anonymous (August 28, 2001)

fat mike's full of himself

Anonymous (August 23, 2001)

Every song is great in its own way. "Lori Meyers" is a very good dramatic song, "Jeff Wears Birkenstocks", "Punk Guy", and "Linoleum" are all great punk songs, and my personal favorite is "Perfect Government."
