It Prevails' The Inspiration is easily, easily Rise Records' best release in nearly four whole years, assuming Fear Before the March of Flames' Odd How People Shake made at all an impact on you. Perhaps it's because "the inspiration" for It Prevails is Shai Hulud and not the silly, often directly exploited antics of Christian breakdown metalcore.

I must confess.. I've never liked the band on CD or audio.. fucking amazing band live...these guys are really good, even if they are treading on similar ground to shai hulud/misery signals. I've had the pleasure of sharing a stage with these guys...really really good stuff. This actually sounds more liike the latest Misery Signals album than Shai Hulud. Even the vocalis are identical to the new MS vocalist. I got these guys EP a while ago....awesome. Jesus. Those emo and metalcore band name generators on the web need to be shut down. This shit's getting out of hand. This is a pretty good review and i will probably give it a listen. |
