Denmark's Nekromantix is a band that gets an undue amount of crap from the Internet community. While they may not be writing timeless classics, they have thus far put forth a set of decent psychobilly punk records on independent labels that are still far superior to much of the crap the mainstream music industry has been churning out.

I loved the new album, it took me a few listens to like it, but now I got the point... I always have, and always will hate psychobilly. Man that shit sucks. Are there psychobilly bands on a major? Living End hardly pass for a rockabilly band, not sure what the reviewer is referring to I like nekromantix, but i feel a lack of diversity between most of the psychobilly bands Are there psychobilly bands on a major? Living End hardly pass for a rockabilly band, not sure what the reviewer is referring to. I happened to wander in the Nekromantix show in Pittsburgh last week hoping to see Westbound Train... Ofcourse psychobilly's a genre. By your rational Rock n' Roll isnnt a genre either, it's just old RnB with Country music elements. Psychobilly is as much a genre as any other modern day music. It's been around for almost thirty years and has definetly changed alot and branched off in different directions, but it's still a genre. to hell w/ billy and all his music he makes in his garage, learn to skate bro. i liked what tiger army once said about psychobilly. They said that rockabilly is either people doing a good redition of what was out in the 50s or on the lesser end, a parody. But psychobilly still has a foot in current times. It's not all nastolgia, sound wise anyways. I had a real fun time trying to explain to a friend that Psychobilly is basically just Rockabilly with a Misfits aesthetic and a few punk tendencies. If you actually think about, Psychobilly isn't a genre at all. It's just Rockabilly that appeals to a certain scene. It's an aesthetic. they don't do it as well. Why is sounding less like The Living End a desirable thing? I'm really looking forward to TA's album. I was a little apprehensive when I first heard "Forever Fades Away", but it's grown on me considerably. that's an incredibly narrow-minded statement. these guys aren't the best but tiger army slays. Well, my favourites are songs 3, 9, and 11. So I would say it does get better. The only songs I'm not particularly fond of are 2, 4, and 6. I've tried listening to this a few times. I'd pop the CD in and really like the first few songs. Then I'd get really bored and play something else. I have never made it to the end of the album. Does it get better with the last few tracks? some parts of this album are incredibly catchy, but overall, its a pretty boring record. Helluva lot better than the last one. I'm a huge Nekromantix fan, but I can't help but be bored by this one. I guess I just miss Peter Sandorff. I'm going to give it a 7 anyway just because it does have some good tracks ("Voodoo Shop Hop," "Cave Canem") and even at their worst, the Nekromantix are still better than most of what gets put up on this site. score is for body count these bands are such a fucking joke. any fat bitch with fishnets and an old car will eat this shit up (no pun intended). To JerryCola - Have you bought/listened to "Curse of the Coffin," "Brought Back to Life" or "Undead Live?" If not check out the one of these. If you have and still can't get into Nekromantix then I'm really sorry, but at least you tried. rockabilly and psychobilly are by far the silliest genres ever. there's no space for growth within those genres, so the newer bands of this variety are basically constantly rewriting the same songs over and over. they should just start tribute bands and legitimately steal other people's music. i mean... i think old cars are pretty cool too, but i don't have to look like a jackass to do that. Your second paragraph makes me wonder if you even know what psychobilly is. i saw these guys 5 years ago with tiger army and was blown away by their live performance. cut to wednesday night when i was so bored i wanted to cry during their set. no idea what changed in that time period. kid from kid & play is stoked. I had the same experiences as the guy below. This album is different, I find. So much better than the rest. I've foolishly conned myself into buying three albums from this band. Each album always has one or two really catchy songs that hook me in but then the rest of the album is just filled with dull boring psychocrap. I was going to write a review for this, but now I don't have to. Anyway, I think it's excellent. Their best yet. I thought that the new lineup might hurt their sound, but on the contrary. They feel more comfortable on this album, and the songs are better than anything they've done in the past. | Features
