1905 isn’t an easily pegged band. Yeah, they played what a lot would refer to as the less-modern definition of screamo. However, it’s not fair to limit the band to one genre alone when their music traveled so far beyond the restraints of screamo. Voice is an album that showcases their versatility, with both male and female voices, harmonies and shrill screams alike and a generally raw sound. And their words surely aren‘t sung, spoken or screamed in vain. 1905 had a message.

perfect record, i just wish they'd mixed it better, and actually allowed you to hear the girl's voice One of my favorite CDs of the last few years. Randomly picked this up at an f-minus show and it did not leave my cd player for a few weeks. holy shit amazing record. fall is such an intense song. good album yoz Just listened to this, and, yes, I will defend them because they're from DC, and the woman who runs Exotic Fever is involved with Positive Force. However, I also think this is pretty awesome in it's own right. Not screamo, but hardcore with screamy vocals. Very enjoyable. enjoyable, enjoyable record, even if some of it was recorded on less than low tech equipment "the soft voice of a female " this is a hardcore band ....not screamo. dude. i liked this a lot less than i thought i would...some of it was great and some of it wasn't even worthwhile 1995 or 1997? People from DC know this band is a hardcore band. That's all they ever thought of themselves as, and that's all they were ever perceived as. "Less modern definition of screamo" is a silly way to describe them. yay exotic fever! | Features
