Man, I'm literally stumped on how to label this band. Emo, Pop, Melodic Rock and countless other genres have crossed my mind...but I still haven't come to a solidified conslusion as of yet.

I had heard virtually nothing about No Knife...I seen this record come in the new shipment box at work...My co-worker saw me checking out the case and told me they were a great band and that I should give it a listen.

The first word I thought of was mediocre...Then followed by overdone, Plain and just sometimes weird. They make up their sound by so many different musical stylings. Take 90's indie rock and throw in some 80's new wave stuff, Piano, A little Synthesizer, mix it all up and you have a pretty somber sounding combination.

I have to hand one thing to No Knife however, They have great talent. Most credit I give them goes to that respectively.

Well, if you ask me you can sense some originality but most tracks are just depressing in tone..the lyrics on the other hand are quite positive and relateable.

12 songs in 47 minutes...just seems to long to me. Some aspects are enjoyable others catch you off guard and even make you wretch in disgust. Ahhh it's not that bad, but if you get a chance to hear this band just keep an open mind.

Well one place to start is www.noknife.com, that's their website and I believe there are MP3s located there. Again, just for the record, No Knife rules.

Well, I heard their contribution to the first warped tour comp. and I liked it..thats partly what finally persuaded me to get this..I dont know if their past records have a different sound, but this just seems like it's been overdone. I may like their other records, but this was just boring to me.

Maybe I'll get an mp3 or two of their older stuff (granted I find them) and give them another chance.

Coldjuly, I respect you as a person, but you are way off the fucking mark here. No Knife is one of the best bands that you've never heard of [this is the royal you, not neccessarily YOU, CJ]. All 3 of their albums [this one, Hitman Dreams, and Drunk On The Moon] are incredibly good emotional rock that is sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, and sometimes really really spazzy [listen to almost anything off "Drunk..." {their first album} and you'll know what I mean]. For points of reference, they've toured with bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Jimmy Eat World, and got the honor of opening up for Braid at one of their last shows. I love this band. You should too.

I like these guys, but not enough to get pissed off with a bad review. Its a good album though.
