Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (Deluxe)

My first impression of this album is that it is a pretty good record. Although I only got it about 3 hours ago, I am really liking it. Maybe by tomorrow I will hate it, and be annoyed with it but right now I'm loving it.

Reset is a young Canadian punk band. When I say young, I mean around 18-19-20ish. They are straigh out of Montreal. They have a very melodic, pop/punk/hardcore sound to them. Haha yes, pop/punk/hardcore sound. Even though that sounds quite odd, it is true. They have a wide range of styles. Mostly sticking with pop/punk, but they have a few traits of hardcore with there sound.

This album kicks off with a short 50 second song entitled " I know", I personally find it the weakest song on the album, just because of it's length. The next tune, is where the greatness starts. "Pollution" is a nice melodic punk tune. They also have a video for that song. A few tracks later, on track 4 (My Dream And I) and track 5 (Let Me Go) are two of my favorite songs on this album. " My Dream And I" is my personal favorite song on this release. Although it is a little slower then other songs at certain points, it is wonderful. As for "Let Me Go" it is great I find because it is so melodic, it makes me sign along everytime. Tracks 6 through 11 are all medium songs. None of them are really bad, but none of the are great. Track 12 "Friend" is the first song I heard from this band. It is the song that made me get into Reset. It starts off slow with an acoustic guitar, but quickly picks up. It is one of the best tracks on this release. This album closes with a song called "Dounble Cross." This song is also one of the high points for me on this release. Another melodic tune by this young Canadian band.

All in all, this is a decent release by this group. I am sure this band will become big one day. They are really good, especially for being young. It's great to see Canadian bands making good music. I recomend to pick up this album, and also "No Worries" also by Reset!

When you copy a band which sucks (pennywise), no wonder why the final result also sucks.

Reset was fucking awesome...anyone who said they sucked needs to go listen to them again, but listen to "No Worries" because it's a lot better...it's faster and more energetic, and the lyrics are about 6,529 times better (A Matter of Rights, United we Stand Tall, as examples)

Simple Plan is just amazing! There's a new song called "Christmas List". It'll be on the MTV TRL Christmas cd (don't like the sound of TRL) but hey .. the song is actually awesome!

Merci, and by the way I highly suggest everyone to download "Worst Day Ever" by Simple Plan. It is great, and most of the people who are in Simplae Plan, were in Reset at one time or another.

I'm moving to Canada before the end of the year to go to yet another school. damn you would figure I would have a Phd by now. Anyway, not the point... Reset is ok, But if you want good Canadian bands check out: Sparkmarker, D.B.S., By A Thread, Sector Seven, SNFU, Belevedere, and many many others I find myself liking most Canadian bands..much like Swedish punk there is something in swedish water that makes most of those bands totally rip.

Reset is not really dead, because Simple Plan, has like all the members from Reset in it. Best track on this release is "Let Me Go"

Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 8:21 PM (EDT)
    My Score:

I must say the No Limits is Reset's best cd, and they are a kick ass band. To the jackass that said they are a Pennywise rip-off band, he has his head so far up his ass he doesn't know which way is right. Reset broke up a short while ago, so try to enjoy the last release of a great Canadian punk band. The track "The End" on this cd kicks ass.

    My Score:

They used to be good. Why was a fucking great song but then wanna be rockstars bullshit. Simple Plan(former singer, former drummer, newest singer of reset) are simply bullshit. For some good shit from Quebec go steal a Fifty Nutz records or an Oversight

    My Score:

Reset is quite average. A Canadian ripoff of Pennywise. Anyways, Simple Plan may sound like the run of the mill flavor of the week, ah hem Sum 41 ah hem but Listen to the songs downloadable on their site. Fuck they are well written pop punk songs. Catchy as FUCK> YOU HEAR ME the fucking catchiest songs I"VE EVER HEARD AND I HAVE LIKE 300 cds. I'm talking as catchy as Dynamite Boy "Somewhere in America" or Face to Face "Don't turn away" Its easy to slag them, they sound kinda like American Hi fi but their songs are undeniably well written and you can't knock that

Fuck you guys, and yeah, when this album came out, that was the age of these guys fuckers. They are awesome. Yeah so most of this band is in a band called Simple Plan?

    My Score:

You put the wrong cover, this is the cover of "No Worries" the first album (wich is way better)...."No Limits" is just alright, but now Reset are dead (anyway only 1 of the 4 original members was left after they recorded "No Limits" and the new signer sucked !) now, some of them play in a very very very shitty band called Simple Plan......

    Posted by Anarchy_Adam on 2001-10-25 17:12:44
    My Score:

Eh. It's an okay album. They've gotten worse since the first time I saw them (in '97 opening for ten foot pole...) They sure as fuck aren't 18, 19 or 20. I'd say closer to 24,25, or 26. Anyways, this album is kinda generic.

    My Score:

    RESET SUCKS!
All their songs sound the same and the guitar is always playing the same fucking lame riffs. They're totally sellout even if they're not popular at all. Only 13 years old kids like them.

SOrry but that album sucks ass.. Im from Montreal and they were hated. (Only the 13 years old kid were loving them)... they are fake and are now in SImple Plan.. They were just playing big shows and they were rockstars.
