Last year's long-awaited release by now-defunct Australian metal act I Killed the Prom Queen is nothing short of impressive. With its sound leaning more towards Swedish melodic death metal, it’s clear that they had really progressed since their last release.

The backup vocals are incredibly weak, strained and feel like they are about to go out of key any second. they are not at all 'epic'. They feel completely out of place on the album and are totally pussy shit. There are maybe two tracks, tops, on this album that could be considered to have some kind of 'dynamic '. However, if you play the first three seconds of each song and then skip to the next track, then repeat that the whole way through the album you realise that each track LITERALLY starts with an identical chord progression or drum fill. One of the guitarists has now joined Bleeding Through, The 'Singer' has joined Eternal Lord back in the UK, and the drummer has his own aforementioned shit going on. Hey, I wish I sounded like Darkest Hour too. Well, not that much apparently. Way to use "epic" twice in a span of three paragraphs. If I wanted to listen to mysoginistic crap, I'd rather listen to killwhitneydead for the sheer ludicris of their samples or pre-trainwreck boysnightout, both intense guilty pleasures. I'd rather have warm diharrea funelled gentley into my ears than listen to this australian garbage. This is one of the worst reviews I have ever seen. They must sound better on record then they do live. They were downright terrible when they were opening on that Never Shave again tour last fall. who is this tard who gave them four stars?? Stop wasting our time! How did this get posted? Not a good review at all. i dont know why, but i have a hard time trusting reviews(especially 4/5 star ones) from people who've never contributed anything to the site in the way of comments before... just seems a little too street-team/band member ish JJ (their drummer) has a new thing going... This is one of the worst metalcore bands I've ever heard. Wow. yeah right and she was HAVING A BALL... Thumbs down to stock photography album covers. This band is no good, retch. this album is actually really, really shit. i love this album. If you're going to keep reviewing shit like this here, please just quit while you're ahead. I'm sure they'll enjoy it at AbsolutePunk though. I've never listened to this band, but the band name alone is enough to make me stay the fuck away. seriously. i don't think i've ever heard a worse name for a band. This reviewer is a shitty writer and clearly has his head up his ass. how gay This is not a good review. Everything that's wrong with metal, you can find it with these guys. Didn't they break up though? An 8?! This band was fucking terrible. But hey, if you're into breakdowns and shitty riffs, you'll probably enjoy this shit pile. They sound exactly like Atreyu to me. Atreyu sucks. So by the transitive property of suck, this album is in fact not worth grabbing. Show some fucking objectivity. I've taken shits that vaguely resemble better written reviews than this. |
