It's a good year for fans of the groundbreaking pioneers in modern metalcore. Hydra Head is parading out nearly every major Botch release in expanded, deluxe edition form, the Dillinger Escape Plan is putting the finishing touches on their third full-length, and now Coalesce has returned with a 7" colored to ensure vinyl nerd hard-ons and two signature, shapeshifting pieces of abrasive disorder and unrelenting rage contained within.

Pleasantly surprised by how good this is. I cannot wait to hear the new album. Coalesce are such a great band, but it's hard to get excited about them recording new material because they always get back together for a hot 3 months and then break up again before doing a full tour, let alone a new record. Yeah that Michigan Fest set was pretty wild. Icapped2pac, I think I talked to you on Soulseek, about Jena Berlin and Polar Bear Club a few weeks ago. hey down there, i went to that show and it was amazing, and although i didnt go to the michiganfest show, the general feedback was that it topped that by far. i love this band more than words can express. can't wait till this comes in the mail. This album is so pimp, like a pimp, like it was one of those pimps. I'll be buying this as soon as I get home from vacation (on Itunes, I'd love to have the vinyl, but I have no use for something I can only listen to at home). I've only heard "Son Of..." but that alone exceeded my expectations. Anybody go to the recent Detroit show? I'm curious to know what I missed and whether it topped their set at the final Michiganfest. |
