The Dangerous SummerIf You Could Only Keep Me Alive (2007)Hopeless Records Reviewer Rating: Contributed by: FlashAmI (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on September 11th 2007
The Dangerous Summer were a band I wrote off from the start. The name, the artwork -- it just screamed at me to stay away and even the fact that it carried the Hopeless Records logo on the back was kind of disheartening. Hopeless used to be a label that I loved but has recently been releasing increasingly annoying and generic emo releases (Royden, All Time Low, Nural). I listened to it once and it failed to really change that perception, so I threw the record to the back of the pile. A few weeks later I pulled it out and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

My friend is pushing this disc on me... i agree. at first it didn't do anything for me... but a few listens later i like it somehow. not every single second, but the majority of it at least. They rip off The Starting Line so bad it isn't even funny. They fucking steal their lyrics and melodies. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOBBY!!!! Ring of Honor pro wrestling (www.rohwrestling.com... or just search some of their shit on YouTube, especially Jack Evans or the Briscoes) is coming to Detroit and Chicago this weekend. Go. It's a fun time and not at all generic and boring like this album (or the 3 songs I can hear on myspace). | Features
