My attention was originally directed toward Mayday Parade by their addition to the under-the-radar Punk Goes Acoustic 2. Having never heard them before, I was extremely impressed by the songwriting and vocals on their piano version of "Three Cheers for Five Years." So it was only natural to get my hands on their 2006 EP Tales Told by Dead Friends and their newest release, A Lesson in Romantics.

If that's directed towards someone that would rate this highly, are they really gonna change their mind when they go and listen to 3 drastically different bands? The cover art reminds me of the honor system Listen to Small Brown Bike, Bear Vs. Shark or Fugazi and tell me if this album is still worth an 8 rating. Incredulous comment in regards to the score. WRRrrrooooooooonnnnggg! Nope. I really enjoyed the version of "When I Get Home You're So Dead" on "Tales Told By Dead Friends" but the one on this one has been polished to death. Score is for guilty pleasures being not even pleasurable any more. I really really hope that this review is some kind of sick joke. this review is a joke, right? or do people actually think this crap is good? isn't there enough Fall Out Boys in the world? you shouldn't be speaking of emo "Jamie All Over" is a ridiculously cute song. |
